What is mini camping? And what makes it so special?
Minicamping stands for camping on small, natural and privately run campsites with fewer than 10 pitches. It offers an alternative to large campsites and focuses on individual, relaxed pitches close to nature. Mini campsites are often located on farms, in the forest, by lakes, on large meadows or on vineyards - wherever private individuals want to share their beautiful spot of land with campers.
The special thing about mini campsites is not only their natural character, which is reminiscent of wild camping. Unlike wild camping, many hosts provide their camping guests with practical infrastructure such as a toilet, showers, electricity or even Wi-Fi.
Popular regions for mini camping
Whether in the mountains, on the coast or by a quiet lake - mini camping sites can be found in a wide variety of regions. Here you will find inspiration for the most popular regions in Germany for your next camping trip close to nature!
Nature, tranquillity and individuality - why mini camping is more than just a trend
Mini camping is more than just a trend - it is a response to the growing demand for peace and nature, especially since the pandemic. Instead of traveling to crowded tourist destinations, more and more people are looking to retreat to relaxed, private places in the countryside. Mini camping gives you the freedom to create your own adventure - without the crowds, but with everything you need for a relaxing break. Here you can switch off and leave everyday life at home for a moment.
How to find your perfect mini campsite
With the right filters, you'll find the perfect spot - just the way you like it.
Are you traveling self-sufficiently and don't need toilets, showers or WiFi? No problem! But even if you're looking for more comfort, you'll find what you need. On our website or in the app, you can use numerous filters to search specifically for mini campsites - for example with showers, toilets, a campfire site, by a lake or in a secluded location.

What you should bear in mind when mini camping
Mini camping is only possible because there are friendly hosts who are happy to share their beautiful spot with campers. You should therefore value the campsites, take your garbage with you or dispose of it on site and abide by the hosts' house rules (e.g.: "Feeding farmyard animals is prohibited"). If the hosts have house rules, you can easily read them in the description of the respective minicamp.
Mini camping by the sea
Whether on the Baltic or North Sea in Germany, the Mediterranean or the Atlantic in southern Europe - some of the most popular destinations are right by the sea. No wonder that the demand for campsites near the coast is particularly high. Conventional campsites often rely on huge facilities that have little to do with the original camping feeling.
Mini camping means camping in nature. So if you're looking for a small, natural mini campsite by the sea, away from the crowds, on beautiful beaches and surrounded by greenery, you've come to the right place! Discover your alternative to mass tourism and enjoy a relaxed camping vacation where you can enjoy the sound of the sea and nature to the full.
Do you already have a clear idea of where you want to go? Then simply enter the location in the search bar and find your perfect spot. Alternatively, you can use the map to discover mini campsites on the coast or use our "By the sea" filter. This way you will only see mini campsites by the sea in the list or map view.

Mini camping by the lake
Mini camping gives you the opportunity to explore new waters and discover places you might never have found otherwise. As the pitches are located on private land, you have access to idyllic, private lakes that are away from the hustle and bustle - a real highlight for nature lovers. But you can also enjoy a relaxing break at well-known lakes such as Lake Constance or other popular bodies of water when mini camping.
