On these 20 spots, adventure is waiting right outside the bus door! For all those who love being on the road as much as we do.

WALDEN" magazine is full of inspiration for adventures on the doorstep, interesting facts about nature and being on the road, and ideas for things that everyone can experience for themselves out in the backcountry. That's why we thought it was high time for a special Hinterland spot edition together with the magazine's creators. Here are our jointly selected favorite places on the water, with animals, as a starting point for hiking and biking and on wineries!

DIVE IN & DIVE OUT

1\. Philippsthal, on the banks of the ex-border river Werra. The Green Belt and the Werratal Cycle Path pass by here; frogs and nightingales provide open-air concerts.
**THE PLACE-PLUS: **the fireplace and four stone steps over which you climb into the Werra water. Or onto the SUP. Or into the canoe ...

2\. idyll in abundance! On the wind-blown pasture of this farm in the east of Rügen it is great to stop. All around: meadows, woods, Baltic Sea noise. You can stroll 800 meters to Reddevitz's "house beach" - the water is usually warm enough to swim in from May.

3\. cows on the pasture, glittering water. This is the backdrop of this beautiful campsite in Taching am See - a good place to arrive, switch off, but also to paddle and dive. The private bathing area is only a five-minute walk away.

4\. where otters and beavers say good night, you can end the day: The campground - once a tree nursery - is located in Lower Saxony's Mittlere Hunte nature reserve, between forest and quiet little river. Great starting point for adventures on the water!

5\. harvesting recreation, that works out great at the apple orchard in Seehof north of Berlin. Stretch your hammock between the trunks of the 185 gnarled trees and relax, for example after a swim at Lake Ruppin, which is only 500 meters away.

HIKING & BIKING

What a feast for the eyes! In Jandelsbrunn in the Bavarian Forest, at a panoramic height of 650 meters, there is a farm on whose wild meadow you can XXL-relax after hiking and biking tours. Thanks to horses, rabbits and co. the fluff factor of the place is high! **THE PLACE-PLUS:** Bread rolls, forest honey and eggs from happy-free chickens you get directly in front of the door.

7 Nordic by nature: Forest, moor, lakes, mud flats. All this is only a short walk, stroll or bike ride away from Kathrin's meadow in Geestland, located south of Cuxhaven and guarded by giant trees. Four-legged hiking companions welcome!

8 Once the eastern border rose behind the Fichtelgebirge village of Kleinwendern. Today, trails and options are limitless: Biking and hiking routes pass the campsite in the orchard; climbers can tackle the "Kösseinestock". Weekends: Semmelservice.

9\. in Heike's private park with trees, bushes, flowering areas and reed-lined lake, paradise-like conditions prevail. It is a 1-a- chill-out area! If you need more excitement, get on your bike.
bike. Paths lead from Blankenberg to Schwerin, Wismar, to the Baltic Sea.

10\. this spot is lonely top - and on the Zollernalb above Freiburg. Ideal for MTB fans, hiking freaks and bicep-trained people who want to cut the firewood for the campfire themselves. Axe and saw are available on request free Alb!

WINE & WIDTH

11\. even soberly considered lies between the vineyards near Bad Kreuznach a top pitch: quiet, spacious, with panoramic views of the Rhine Valley and connection to umpteen award-winning cycling and hiking routes.
**THE PLACE PLUS:** clear case ... hiccup ... the 24/7 wine bar, a vending machine with well-tempered drops. Back to the bus bed it staggers then yes not far ...

12 Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Acolon anyone? Then let's go to the Dörflein family and the Donnersdorfer Falkenberg. The site in the heart of Franconia is a postcard spot. Advice: First hike, bike, move, then indulge and sip. Keep to the order!

13: If that's not the best location! Applies to the wine, which is grown up there for 2000 years. And for you, for the night: In the vineyards above Dittelsheim-Heßloch in the Palatinate, you park among the vines. A vintner's picnic is on order!

14: If you book into the Meyerhof meadow, you'll be living directly
to the bio wine-growing estate at the edge of Flonheim in Rhineland-Palatinate belongs a Vinothek with noble selection. On Fridays, a wine tasting including cellar tour and tarte flambée evening is on the program.

15\. little thing still: At the winery Klein in Weinsheim on the Nahe there's great! The vineyard with its eastern meadow, where you spend the night, and the Klein wines, of course, which you may also taste wine hiking or at a boat wine tasting (...book in advance). A toast!

ANIMAL & YOU

16\. there is a lot of grumbling here! The place is now times close to the dwarf goat stable on a nature experience farm in the heimatfilmschönen South Eifel. We promise fur contact in any case, finally count beside goats also ponies, sheep and rabbits to the van neighborhood.
**THE PLACE PLUS**: the mandala-like permaculture garden. And the noble Eifelbrände as Busbetthupferl!

17 Nothing against yoga retreats... But in Rehburg, Lower Saxony, you'll learn true serenity from your campsite neighbors - massive Poitou donkeys that have lost their cool. You park at the edge of the forest, right next to the stallion meadow and surrounded by tons of landscape.

18: Probably the fattest (breakfast) eggs of the whole Chiemgau are in Schnaitsee. Marcus and Ramona breed ostriches there - and their hard-shell products weigh an average of 1.5 kilograms! You wouldn't have to carry them far - you live right on the farm.

19\. never looked into the eyes of an alpaca? Then swing your hooves to Reiferscheid in the Westerwald. In a gently rolling pasture, you can a) spend the night and b) watch a small herd graze or even splash around. Alpaca walks are also possible!

20\. dwarf goats can jump on a trampoline. If you don't believe it, drive to Schellbach near Gera, park your bus on Stefanie's meadow orchard and wait at the trampoline on that very meadow until an agile goat does its workout on it... no kidding!
