JanaDirectly on the bank of the former border river Werra we offer you an idyllic camping site.
Our site has a fireplace, direct access to the water, and lots of nature, including ticks, mosquitoes, croaking frogs and the singing of the nightingale.
Opposite, on the other side of the river, behind trees, is a federal highway. At night it is very quiet, but on weekdays the traffic increases in the morning hours.
The Werra is an ideal river for water hiking via canoe or SUP, in addition, the Werra bike path and the hiking trail Green Belt runs along our property. A bus stop is 100m away.
Who wants can also swim in the Werra, we have on the bank a small staircase to get into the cool water.
Here ran the inner-German border more than 30 years ago. History within reach ;-) The house on the border, the bridge of unity and the border museum in the former border tower are within walking distance.
Furthermore there are in the surrounding area:
- many hiking trails & small mountains (the northern Kuppenrhön)
- two swimming pools (2km each)
- tennis hall (2km)
- bike park (approx. 15km)
- canoe rental (15km)
- cycle paths
- museums (border museum, local history museum, mining museum, visitor mine etc.)
- fishing license sale
Within sight of the campsite is our house and a few more neighbors. Our cat Ogel (all black) will surely come to visit you, and the neighbors also have cats.
We are happy about all nature-loving campers/vanlifers who want to enjoy the site with a view and leave the site clean.
Furthermore, you should be self-sufficient, your vehicle should not be longer than 6.50m and heavier than 3.5t and you should be able to drive about 50m backwards, because turning is difficult on the site.
Arrival is possible from 14.00 clock and departure should be until 13.00 clock, depending on whether we have follow-up bookings.
From October to May the place is only available for 4x4 vehicles.
The site is too small for caravans and motorhomes. No tents.
Children & animals are included in the price, please specify when booking.
You have questions about activities in the area or about your stay with us ? Feel free to write us a message !
Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival. Or within 48 hours of booking, up to one day before arrival.
