  A beautiful and unique place to stay! The Tollendorfer Mühle has a very special atmosphere and is perfect for anyone looking for peace and quiet, nature, and a spot away from the usual campgrounds. I felt very at home here. The surroundings invite you to explore and unwind, and the old mill in particular gives the stay a charm all its own. For me, it’s exactly these kinds of special places that make traveling with Hinterland so special. I’d come back anytime and can wholeheartedly recommend this spot. Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  What a fantastic spot and such a warm welcome. After we (2 adults with 1 dog) fled Hitzacker because the campground there was completely overcrowded, dirty, and noisy, Matthias took us in on the spot. We were allowed to park right in front of the beautiful mill in the driveway, since the actual spot was already taken. Wonderful peace and quiet and a great view on the park-like property. On top of that, we were even given some freshly laid eggs from the mill’s chickens.We’d like to take this opportunity to say a very heartfelt thank you once again for the exceptional hospitality. We’d love to come back whenever we’re traveling through the north, and we highly recommend this one-of-a-kind spot at the Tollendorfermühle. Warm regards from Mühltal.

  Matthias is a really lovely host. We felt very comfortable and spent a beautiful, peaceful, starry night at the mill. Note for light sleepers (in a rooftop tent): on the adjacent street, rush-hour traffic is quite audible—at least on weekdays from 6 a.m. to just after 8 a.m. Otherwise, it’s truly wonderfully quiet.

  A wonderfully peaceful spot next to a cornfield and the old mill. Great places to go for walks. The friendly host was easy to reach, and setting up electricity and water was hassle-free. A magnificent starry sky thanks to zero light pollution. Thank you!
