Wendland Elbe: Idyllic Farmyard Campsite

We have a yard with space for a motorhome of any size; when the weather is (more or less) dry, there’s also a meadow. You can also camp in the yard or on the meadow. There is electricity and an outdoor outhouse; you’re also welcome to use the bathroom, shower, toilet, and kitchen inside the house.

Kovahl is nestled between fields and woods; just a short walk across the small village road takes you into the woods, which feature beautiful old beech trees and plenty of peace and quiet—as well as opportunities for adventures big and small (depending on what appeals to you most). There’s also a spring within walking distance, and you can take lovely walks through the fields.

By bike, the Elbe River is a comfortable 8 km away. Hitzacker, with its old town on the city island, is about 15 km away, and Dahlenburg—with various larger shopping options and an hourly connection to Lüneburg—is also 8 km away. Sammatz (3.5 km) is also worth a visit; there’s an “Arche” farm and large, beautiful gardens.

Within walking distance, there are small farm stands in Ventschau (2 km) and Tangsehl (1.5 km), as well as in Sammatz (3.5 km).

Depending on the season, you can pick your own cherries, currants, plums, or apples here.
