Late summer in the Hinterland: Off to the fruit harvest!

Summer is (almost) over and with it the camping season? Not with us! Right now there's a lot to discover and try in the hinterland.

The leaves are slowly turning colorful, the air smells wonderfully fresh and the sun shines even more golden - late summer has its very own magic! And unlike many campsites, you can enjoy your time outside with your van, camper or tent all year round. In the backcountry it is always season. And especially now, every weekend excursion, no matter how short, is worthwhile - because there is a lot to discover and try! Because when autumn slowly announces itself, the high season in the orchards and plantations in the hinterland is upon us! Especially early apple varieties are already ripe, but also plums, mirabelles, pears and berries are now ready to be harvested! And what could be better than picking some juicy fruit directly from the pitch?

For example, we just visited hostess Sabine on her apple orchard in Brandenburg. Here are a good 185 very old and natural trees, between which you can find a cozy spot. "We have so much space that you won't even be able to hear your neighbor from your hammock," Sabine says. "And if you do want company, you'll meet while picking apples together!"

When you fall asleep, it sounds a bit as if someone is quietly playing boules right next to the van. But it's only apples that plop muffledly into the grass from time to time. On Sabine's apple orchard (there are also pears, mirabelles and plum trees) it is heavenly quiet, the starry sky imposing. Earlier, the sun had set colorfully over Lake Neuruppin. It was a wonderful late summer day.

In the salad for supper there were herbs from the raised bed that Sabine has created for her guests. In return, watering is to be done. The site is also equipped with a sink and an outdoor shower and a well-maintained toilet called PIPIBOX, because the head of the plantation is in his first job a lender of the same. So there is almost no reason to leave the premises. Except, of course, the sea. Because the private jetty that belongs to the plantation is only a very short walk away. Sabine and her family are looking forward to your visit! [Click here for the ad and booking. ]()
