A lovely, inviting log cabin situated on a mountain peak.
The cabin enjoys an elevated, open position with panoramic views and a spacious terrace featuring a roof overhang that wraps around the entire building.
Inside, you are welcomed by a cozy, nature-inspired atmosphere; large windows bring the outdoors in, while a beautiful natural-stone fireplace creates a sense of warmth and tranquility. Right on your doorstep, you will find excellent hiking opportunities and a landscape that offers adventure, relaxation, and an authentic mountain experience—all in an area renowned for its stunning scenery and clear, starry skies. Sauna. Dogs allowed.
A distinctive and inviting log cabin high up in the mountains, surrounded by peace, quiet, and beautiful scenery. Situated at an altitude of approximately 600 meters, the cabin offers a fantastic view and enjoys plenty of sunlight. There are very few cabins in the area, and properties like this one are truly rare. It is perfect for families seeking tranquility and an authentic mountain experience. You can tell the cabin was built with love: large timber logs, an atmospheric natural stone fireplace, and carefully considered details throughout create a warm and cozy atmosphere both inside and out. Hiking trails begin right at your doorstep—simply lace up your hiking boots and head straight out into the mountain terrain.
The cabin features an open, spacious layout connecting the living room and kitchen, equipped with a gas stove, a gas-powered refrigerator, and most of the essentials needed for self-catering. A solid wooden dining table provides ample space for gathering, while the living area includes a lounge suite, chaise longues, large windows overlooking the natural landscape, and an additional 150 × 200 cm bed. There are three bedrooms: one with a double bed (150 cm), one with two custom-built log-style bunk beds (180 cm long), and one with a large 180 × 180 cm bed—accommodating a total of eight people. There is also a washroom equipped with a shower enclosure and a wood-fired sauna; water for the shower is heated in a pot and poured into a shower bag. The cabin is heated by a wood-burning stove in the hallway and a fireplace in the living room. It is powered by a 12-volt solar system and includes one standard 230-volt electrical outlet. Cold drinking water can be fetched from an outdoor tap, and the biological composting toilet is located in a separate building just outside.
Access is via a gravel road, which is open during the summer season (approximately May 1st to October 15th). The road is very steep at the beginning, so a vehicle with good power/traction is recommended. The ascent is about 2 km, with an elevation gain of approximately 350 meters. The road to the cabin is about 3 km long, but once you reach the top, a stunning mountain landscape awaits you.
PLEASE NOTE: The road is closed during the winter; access is then on foot or on skis from the parking area. It is possible to arrange transport by snowmobile—including luggage transport—if booked in advance. Please check with the host about this beforehand.
A few kilometers further along the road from the cabin, you will find a beautiful mountain lake, Sandvann, where you can swim and fish. Fishing permits can be purchased from the landowner.
