But once you arrive at the site, you won't want to leave in a hurry. Let your gaze wander over the vines - and beyond, because here you are high enough to see from the Tuniberg, across the Rhine Valley plain to the Black Forest.

If you like, you can even enjoy a free wine tasting on the farm with host Florian and taste the grapes in their best form, which are grown right on the campers' doorstep.

Choose a beautiful pitch on the idyllic meadow next to your host Felix's vineyard. Surrounded by vines, you can camp here in the small valley in Malterdingen, not far from Freiburg. The valley offers an ideal starting point for hikes or bike tours through the vineyards or the Rhine plain. Take day trips to Freiburg, Kaiserstuhl, Alsace, Europapark, the Black Forest or the nearby quarry pond.

One of the highlights is tasting the wines produced on the farm - from the vine to the glass. You can also buy the wines directly from the farm store - as well as sparkling wine, brandies, honey, juice and much more.

This motorhome pitch from host Toni has only been available for a short time and is therefore still an absolute insider tip. But one that probably won't stay that way for long, because here you have the perfect combination of city and nature.

The fruit trees are also self-service, so just try the whole range - right outside the camp door, of course. Or treat yourself to a refreshing dip in the quarry pond, which is also just a few minutes' walk away.
