We run an elaborate conservation breeding program for the endangered Baudet du Poitou donkey (the heaviest donkey in the world) in Rehburg.
You spend the night in the green at the donkey pasture at the Meerbruchwiesen!
Access to the pitch is via a gravel path. Please use your own camping toilet and waste water tank. Loud IA and cock-a-doodle-doo from the roosters shouldn't put you off :-) Then this is the right place for one or more overnight stays.
The site is an ideal starting point for hiking, cycling or MTB tours.
A few kilometers away is e.g. the Steinhuder-Meer largest lake in northwest Germany with many tourist attractions.
A guided tour of the farm and the conservation breeding is possible by arrangement.
Rehburg-Loccum is a town in Lower Saxony in the south-east of the district of Nienburg/Weser and is the second largest town in the district with a good 10,000 inhabitants.
Places of interest in the immediate vicinity are: the Loccum monastery, Dinopark, Romantik Bad Rehburg, Steinhuder Meer, ÖSSM, local history museum, Wilhelmsturm etc.

The donkeys are a joy to watch.
Unfortunately, we only spent one night with the absolutely adorable donkeys. Frank wasn’t there that day, but he had asked a friend or relative to welcome the guests, which went off without a hitch. We were shown around, and the site was level and well-maintained. We only used the electricity, so we can’t comment on the restroom facilities. However, they were located close to the campsite. In addition to the donkeys, there were also a few chickens and goats, as well as some small horses. So it’s perfect for families with children. We didn’t have any children with us, but we did have two little dogs, and they really enjoyed it here too. Thank you very much—we’d love to come back!

A very pleasant stay! The little donkeys are absolutely adorable! The Steinhuder Meer is easy to reach by bike. The restroom facilities are perfect!
