Charming, small wooden cabin for rent in idyllic rural farm surroundings. Views of mountains and sheep walking in the field.

Enjoy cozy evenings with electricity and lovely warmth from the wood stove and your own lavvo with fire pit. A simple outdoor kitchen is ready for simple meals, and there is an organic compost toilet. A hot tub and sauna can be added for the perfect retreat. In summer you can borrow a rowboat for free. Dogs are welcome.

A charming, miniature log cabin for rent on a farm. The cabin is small and simple, with an interior area of ​​approximately 8 m². It is furnished with a 120 cm × 200 cm bed, two duvets, and pillows. There is also a small table with a couple of stools, an armchair, and a wood-burning stove. The cabin is best suited for one person, though it can accommodate two if desired.

The cabin has electricity and a wood-burning stove; heating is provided by both an electric panel heater and the wood stove.

Firewood for 1–2 fires is included in the price.

The cabin is built of timber and features atmospheric lighting inside.

Outside the cabin, there is a *lavvo* (tipi) equipped with a fire pit, seating, and a small, simple outdoor kitchen. The kitchen includes a gas burner and basic equipment, such as a coffee maker, an electric kettle, and a microwave. From May 1st to November 1st, a small refrigerator with a small freezer compartment is also available in the *lavvo*.

There is a biological composting toilet located outside.

There are two cabins on the farmstead. If you are traveling as a group—for example, multiple couples—it is possible to also rent the small "farm cabin" located on the same property.

Otherwise, the second cabin is typically kept closed when the first one is rented out. There is no running water inside the cabin or the outdoor kitchen, but we provide free drinking water and water for general use. We will take care of the dishwashing.

This is a working farm with sheep. The cabin is situated near our own home; you may see cars coming and going, sheep roaming nearby, and the occasional tractor passing by. Our children may be playing outside, and we might have visitors. At the same time, there are quieter moments, and the surroundings are rural and peaceful.

If this appeals to you, you are more than welcome! ☆ You can rent a sauna and a hot tub. During the winter season (approx. Nov 15 – May 1), these are located on the farm in a private, fenced-off "spa corner." During the summer/autumn season (approx. May 1 – Nov 15), they are located by the river at our nature campsite, about 500 meters from the cabin.

Hot tub prices (3 hours):

July, August: NOK 550

May, June, September, October: NOK 650

November 1 – April 31: NOK 750

Includes 3 hours in the tub (or as otherwise agreed).

The tub is filled with fresh water for each use and heated with firewood. It takes 1–2 hours to heat up. The hot tub must be booked at least one day in advance.

Weather conditions: The temperature must be warmer than -7°C.

Barrel sauna prices (2 hours):

May, September, October: NOK 300

December 1 – April 30: NOK 350

The sauna is heated with firewood. The stove also heats water, allowing you to wash yourself inside the sauna.

It takes about 40 minutes to heat up; the sauna can be used year-round.

☆ It is best to book the sauna and hot tub 1–2 days in advance, but feel free to check with the host to see if there is availability on shorter notice.

Getting to our farm / Håvestøl Nature Campsite: If you do not have a car, you can travel by plane or ferry to Kristiansand (the nearest major transport hub). From there, you can take a bus to Evje, and then a connecting bus from Evje to here.

Dogs are allowed, but they are not permitted on the beds.

Please note that dogs must be kept on a leash on the property due to the presence of sheep.

You may borrow a rowboat free of charge on the nearest lake (weather permitting/provided there is no ice). Please bring your own life jackets.

You must purchase your own fishing permits.

There are many excellent fishing lakes and hiking trails throughout the municipality of Åseral.

Firewood is available for purchase from us: 110 NOK for a large bag,

and 60 NOK for a small bag.

- Bed linen can be rented for 150 NOK per set (includes a sheet, duvet cover, and pillowcase).

- Rowboat: please bring your own life jackets.

- Electric vehicle (EV) charging is not available.

- Guests should bring their own bed linen, though it is also available for rent from us.

- Guests are required to vacuum the cabin before departure.

The municipality of Åseral is renowned for its beautiful natural scenery and extensive hiking trails, suitable for both winter and summer. In the winter, there are miles of cross-country ski trails, as well as three alpine ski centers. The nearest alpine ski center and the cross-country trails at Bortelid are approximately a 15-minute drive away.

- Approx. 25 minutes to Evje Mineral Park, rafting, a climbing park, and shops.

- Approx. 15–20 minutes to Bortelid, which features an alpine ski center, about 110 km of groomed cross-country ski trails, and a shop. In the summer, Bortelid is known for its excellent hiking and walking trails, minigolf, a roller-ski track, and more.

- 25 minutes to the center of Åseral (Kyrkjebygda), home to the Minne cultural center. Cultural center, Coop store, gas station.

- 7 minutes to the nearest lake, where the rowboat is located.

Getting to our farm or to Håvestøl Nature Camp: If you do not have a car, you can, for example, travel by plane or ferry to Kristiansand, which is the nearest transport hub. From there, you can take a bus to Evje, and then another bus from Evje to Håvestøl in Åseral municipality.
