East Westphalia and the Lipperland region offer many wonderful opportunities for active leisure pursuits.

You can set out on canoe trips, bike rides, or hikes right from here.

The H2O Leisure and Wellness Center is located right next door.

Art and culture (e.g., Marta Herford or the newly built Herford Archaeological Window) are just a 15-minute bike ride away.

The bus stop, restaurant, and supermarket are only a 5-minute walk away.

But you can also simply relax in a camping chair, gaze at the water, and let your mind wander—it’s all very possible here.😃

  • Jens is a very friendly host. We really liked the campsite. Having access to toilets, a shower, and a kitchenette for washing dishes was very helpful for us. Everything was clearly well-maintained. Our stay was very hassle-free. You can hear the highway faintly from a distance, especially at night in the tent—we noticed that on the first night. By the second night, it wasn’t a problem anymore. Unfortunately, the train passed over the adjacent railroad bridge several times in the morning, which woke us up. Since we were only there for two nights, we obviously can’t comment on the train schedule for that line. Our dog would have loved to go for a swim, but in the short time we had, we couldn’t find a suitable, shallow spot to enter the river. Maybe there are some hidden gems out there? In short: All in all, it was truly two wonderful days! We also managed to take a little trip on our inflatable boat along the canal. There’s hardly any current.

  • The place is beautiful, right on the Werre River. It felt like a vacation from the very first moment. Everything was perfect.

  • A beautiful spot right by the river. I'd love to come back.

  • For us, it's the perfect spot to just get away for a bit. It's in a very relaxing location. You can go right to/into/on the water. In some places, though, you'll need more than 25 meters of power cord.
