Hello, I’m Jens, born in 1965. As an avid canoeist, I’ve actually been traveling my whole life with a tent, a trailer, and, more recently, a motorhome. Since we have a beautiful, large meadow on the grounds of our canoe club right by the river, we decided to make this lovely spot accessible to other camping enthusiasts as well. That’s how the idea came about to register our camping meadow with Hinterland. We look forward to meeting many new people and welcoming camping guests. Ahoy and best regards, Jens

A beautiful, quiet spot right on the water

A really nice campsite right on a small river. Unfortunately, we could only stay for a short while; otherwise, we would have unpacked our SUP board and gone for a little paddle… Everything was there—from toilets and showers to a place to wash dishes—and it was clean. If we’d needed anything, there would always have been someone available or easy to reach. Everyone was very nice!
Jens was very responsive and easy to reach—even making an additional reservation was no problem! The campground had everything you could want; here you can choose between sunny and shaded sites, and the restroom facilities were excellent, complete with showers! The Werra River runs right by the campground—a nice way to cool off on hot days!

Jens was very friendly and helpful. The site is clean and spacious, and you can park wherever you like. The restrooms are also nice.
The campground was pretty busy—about 15 campers—and the location along the Werre River was quite nice. If you need electricity, it’s best to bring at least a 25-meter power cord; that way, you should be able to get power anywhere on the campground (there are several hookups). Unfortunately, our cable was too short, so we couldn’t park right by the water. The restrooms are fine—the women’s area has 2 toilets and 2 showers (the showers aren’t lockable). The restrooms are accessible via a staircase on the first floor. A Rewe supermarket with a bakery is a 5-minute walk away, along with a Chinese restaurant and a Fressnapf pet store. Everything you need is there. We didn’t go swimming in the Werre River because of the undercurrent.

A really great campground, and the groundskeeper keeps it in excellent condition. Even though it's located near a residential area, the campground was very quiet—we slept really well. Thank you very much.

We really liked the campsite. Communication was friendly and straightforward from the very beginning. The restroom facilities are available, clean, and functional. The location is very central, and shopping options are right nearby. Overall, we can wholeheartedly recommend this campsite. Suggestion for improvement: A small seating area for guests with tents (e.g., a bench or a table with chairs) would make the stay even more enjoyable.

Unfortunately, the meadow wasn't accessible by RV. As a result, the electrical hookup was too far away, and we couldn't really sit outside. We only stayed one night, even though we had booked three. If the site were accessible, it would definitely be a very nice place.
Hello! We stayed there for two days and loved it. The location was great, and so were the transportation options. The people there were friendly. We were really pleased with the restrooms. There was hot water, and everything worked perfectly. We’d love to come back!

A very nicely located spot. It’s just a short bike ride to the center of Herford, right along the Werre River. Since it’s a canoe club, they also hold training sessions there. Which was totally fine with us. We’ll definitely be back. Next time with a boat....

It was really nice. Electricity was available, and the restrooms were a bit dated but clean. I can't complain and would definitely come back. Communication was very relaxed via WhatsApp.
Nice place, good restrooms. It’s very open, so there’s not much privacy. Located on the outskirts of a larger city and right next to a busy pedestrian path/river, with a great view of the grounds. You have to like that.
