☆☆☆☆ WELCOME ☆☆☆☆

TO THIS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT CAMPSITE here at Hinterland!

You’ve come to the right place here by the rustic stream in our ◇ Valhalla ◇ IF:

♧ You want to be completely ALONE, UNOBSERVED by other campers!

♧ You want plenty of SPACE around you!

♧ You’re into that VIKING / MEDIEVAL vibe and love for detail, but don’t feel like driving all the way to Uppsala—or dying in battle to get to VALHALL....

♧ Your furry friend is just part of the vacation!

♤ You, like us, appreciate peace and nature, and think the neighbor’s rooster is the best alarm clock in the world

Just come visit us, say “Mellon,” and set up right by the stream....

++++++++++++++++++++++

Our campsite is in a completely secluded location with no other campers; we only offer this one spot—NO other campers will be coming!

CHECK-IN FROM 3:30 PM

CHECK-OUT BY 11:30 AM

You’ll be in Walhalla, right next to our paddock trail with its magnificent warhorses, and RIGHT ON a picturesque river in the heart of the historic Germanic Lipperland region.

We have the Externsteine, the Hermann Monument, the Donoper Ponds, and the “True Germanic People.”

Walhalla doesn’t offer you a commercial campsite with restroom facilities or a manicured, flat English lawn...

BUT it offers you the REAL HINTERLAND!!!

That’s exactly what you want, isn’t it!

Peace & nature by the stream, yet still easy to reach >>>>

Come to Walhalla ✨️

LET’S GO >

A natural sandy beach right next to the boat, complete with a fire pit, invites you to experience the romance of the Kattegat, and the cold, clear water will give you a complexion that even Baldur would envy!

Depending on the sun’s position, the large trees or the hillside provide shade, and with a little luck and silence, you might be visited by a kingfisher, a nutria, our sand lizards, Günni the pheasant, the tame drake, fairies, and dwarves.

Take your time and enjoy the sight of the fireflies and listen to the grasshoppers.

☆☆ Beautiful Nordic-style decor and plenty of fairy lights in the old trees create a Viking atmosphere day and night ☆☆

The clatter of hooves, the snorting of horses, the singing of birds, and the splashing of the nearby waterfall create the ultimate sense of freedom in Valhalla.

You can follow a path from the campsite to the waterfall, sit on one of the two benches, and simply let your mind wander.

Whether you’re camping in a tent or a van, you can even set up camp just 1 meter from the water’s edge.

Our Valhalla covers an area of just over 1/4 hectare and is fenced with wire mesh.

Our Viking boat, the Ragnarök, is securely and sturdily mounted on a tree stump; with a view of the stream and pasture, it’s the perfect sun deck and invites you to enjoy nature....

Here, you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the idyll of the Shire, Valhalla, or wherever you’d like to be.

Your pet is very welcome as long as it gets along with others and doesn’t have a hunting instinct; however, leashes are required.

We also have our “Tänzelndes Pony”...

This is a small convenience store right on the grounds where you’ll find cutlery, lighters, information about the campsite and sightseeing, as well as drinks, canned goods, tea, books, and other items you might otherwise forget to bring.

The access road to the pasture is gravel.

We cherish and care for our “Walhalla” because we also spend our free time there ourselves.

Please take our “Walhalla” to your hearts JUST AS MUCH as we do and treat it well.

After booking, you’ll receive a PDF with all the information.

Do NOT enter the paddock trail or the stables at the top of the path—the stable is under camera surveillance and is our personal safe place!!!!

We’ve already had to call the vet because of leftover food that was fed to the horses, and even well-intentioned attempts to lure them to the fences can become a source of danger for the animals....

The horses love to come up to the fence at Walhalla to look around and enjoy being spoken to, but when they’re in the stable or out on the trail, they want to be left in peace....

    Thank you very much

  • We had a wonderful experience at the campsite; Jana was very accommodating in helping us find a date, and communication in general was very pleasant—we were provided with helpful information right from the start. The spot is gorgeous, enchanting, and close to nature; we felt completely at home and can highly recommend a visit!

  • It was a relaxing weekend at Walhalla. If you’re self-sufficient with a water canister, a portable toilet, and a power box, it’s ideal for a few days. You’re completely on your own. The two horses are peaceful, sweet neighbors. The path to the waterfall was extremely overgrown—pure nature, tick bites included…that’s just summer for you ;-) The Werre babbles soothingly along. The birds are singing. The regional train line on the other side of the stream doesn’t really bother you.

  • We really enjoyed our little getaway at Jana’s Walhalla. The property is beautifully landscaped, and access to the Werre River was a lifesaver when temperatures were over 30 degrees. It was a bit tricky to park our van in the shade, but there are some nice shaded seating areas where you can relax. The railroad tracks across the way didn’t really bother us, because only small, slow regional trains pass by—and only during the day. At night and in the morning, all you hear is the murmur of the Werre River and birds chirping—it’s absolutely wonderful. All in all, a truly lovely spot, and we’ll definitely be back. Communicating with Jana was very straightforward and pleasant!
