Nestled between the moors and heathlands of the Nienburg region lies our Heidhorst, a small, secluded farmstead spanning 2.4 hectares, home to horses, a donkey, dogs, sheep, goats, happy pigs and chickens, geese, ducks, and cats.

If you enjoy being surrounded by nature and animals, we look forward to welcoming you as our guests.

We can offer up to 3 spots for RVs, trailers, and tents with electricity, as well as a tent site on the small orchard meadow without electricity.

With a view of the paddock, you can watch foxes and hares say goodnight to each other in the mornings and evenings, observe bats on the hunt, or watch the horses dozing.

During the day, our ducks are out and about everywhere, and Paula, Pauline, and Rosi, our three pigs, are chilling in the sun.

Muffin and Little Rosi, the barn cats, might say “hello,” and the kite circles over the pasture, hoping to snag a mouse.

Whether you simply want to enjoy the tranquility of country life and the beautiful nature or go on a few interesting excursions, there’s something for everyone here.

We recommend tours to the nearby moor featuring the “Mora” exhibition—the bog body found here—and a ride on the moor railway. We also highly recommend a visit to the crane observation tower in the neighboring village or to the scenic lake in Uchte.

With a little luck, you can even watch the cranes longingly as they fly over our farm in the spring and fall.

The Steinhuder Meer or Lake Dümmer (approx. 30 km away) invite you to go pedal boating, swimming, or for a walk.

You’re sure to have a blast with a day trip to the Münchehagen Dinosaur Park (about 20 km away) or the Kirchdorf Natural Swimming Area (about 8 km away).

If possible, you can get fresh, farm-fresh eggs from happy chickens, and from Friday to Sunday, our farm café opens its doors at noon.

You’ll find a communal grill at your spot, as well as a small fire pit.

If you’re interested in our farm and its animal residents, we’d be happy to give you a farm tour—cuddle factor guaranteed.

Everything is optional, nothing is mandatory.

It’s just as fine if you’d rather be completely self-sufficient and enjoy your peace and quiet.

Various spots on and around our farm invite you to linger: with a view over the paddock, under the old trees of the small orchard, or in one of the many spots between the goat and pig pens—everyone is sure to find their favorite spot.

In Uchte, 4 km away, you’ll find various shopping options, doctors, pharmacies, a veterinarian, banks, and a variety of restaurants for both light and hearty meals.

We look forward to welcoming our guests and are excited to meet each and every one of you.

Bikers and trail riders are also expressly welcome.

Additionally, there is a holistic health practice on our farm, and upon request, an appointment for a Reiki or Access Bars session may still be available.

  • We had a really great weekend here with Regina and Stefan. The campsite, nestled among horses, donkeys, sheep, geese, runner ducks, pigs, and the dogs, was simply fantastic—there was always something for young and old alike to discover. Our kids were absolutely thrilled and even got to help take care of the animals. That was the absolute highlight for them, and it was made possible with so much love. The hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming—you feel right at home. The little café is perfect for a cup of coffee and a nice chat; it’s really cozy and has a family-like atmosphere. Even a trip to the restroom was something of an adventure: It’s located in the horse stable, so you walk past the horses, and most of the time the cats are rubbing against your legs. Everything was clean and well-maintained, which fits perfectly with the special atmosphere there. You can really tell how much passion has gone into this place. We felt completely at home and will definitely be back. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature, animals, and a relaxed atmosphere!

  • A beautiful farm campsite with plenty of charm and a warm and welcoming hostess. You could choose your own spot on a large meadow, and it was very quiet. This place is surrounded by fields and forests, outside of town. There’s a restroom and an outdoor shower, and electricity and water are available if needed. You can go on lovely bike rides there. The peace and quiet and the beautiful views are especially worth mentioning. I stayed there over the weekend, and it was pure relaxation. Highly recommended☺️
