Pitch "Weitblick" in the land of a thousand ponds

Welcome to our campsite in the small, tranquil community of Bucha with its 80 inhabitants in the Saale-Orla district.

The pitches are located on the outskirts of the village on our agricultural land, grassy ground and adjacent to the edge of the field on a very slight slope.

In summer there are cows, pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks to admire on the neighboring pastures and gardens and you can buy fresh quail eggs and honey from the beekeeper next door every day.

Via a small path 60 meters away you can reach our small vantage point "Weitblick" from where you can look many kilometers away with good visibility and perhaps with a glass of wine, and maybe even see one or the other wild animal.

In our small feel-good corner you will find, among other things, a cooking and preparation table. And if it should rain, you will also have the opportunity for fun, games and entertainment.

Our previous guests particularly appreciated the romantic sunsets at the campsite.

You are rarely completely alone, as there are other campers around in the high season.

Here are a few special excursion tips for a stay of several days!

- Hike from our old GDR railroad station "Posenmühle" on the railroad tracks to Ziegenrück (5km) or even further to the famous Ziemtalbrücke. (the largest steel railroad bridge in the GDR). In the small town of Ziegenrück there are restaurants, cafes, boat hire and a hydropower museum

- As we are located right on the edge of the Plothener Teichgebiet nature reserve "Land of a Thousand Ponds", a hike or cycle tour perhaps as far as the Plothen tourist information center is a recommended day trip.

- Motorized or by e-bike, a tour to one of our reservoirs (Hohenwarte - or Bleiloch), each 16 km away, is highly recommended.

Whether it's a steamboat trip, a visit to a restaurant or a swim on the sandy beach, there's plenty to experience.
