from hinterland.camp

Welcome to a backcountry safari through the Danish countryside! Immerse yourself in the variety of landscapes and keep an eye out for some of the most fascinating wildlife this beautiful country has to offer. Here are three exciting candidates plus the perfect accommodation from which you have a good chance of spotting a wild animal or two! The binoculars are even ready and waiting for you.
1. Red deer (Cervus elaphus)
The majestic red deer is the largest wild animal in Denmark and a symbol of untouched nature. During a safari through dense forests and open fields, you may be lucky enough to see these impressive animals, especially early in the morning or late in the evening when they are looking for food or resting in their resting areas.
2. Badger (Meles meles)
The badger is a shy and nocturnal animal that is native to the forests and open landscapes of Denmark. With its characteristic black and white face mask and bushy tail, the badger is an exciting target for nature watchers. Try to be quiet and patient at dusk or in the early morning to catch a glimpse of this fascinating inhabitant of the Danish wilderness.
3. White-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla)
With a wingspan of up to 2.5 meters, the white-tailed eagle is an impressive bird of prey that circles over the coastal areas and islands of Denmark. Its white feathered shoulders and sharp eyes make it a fascinating sight. Keep your eyes peeled as you paddle or hike along the coastlines and over calm waters - you might be lucky enough to see one of these majestic birds in action.
Cabin in the Woods: accommodation in the middle of the forest
Between forest and meadow
A beautiful cabin in the middle of the forest awaits you on the Limfjord south of Aalborg. This is where comfort meets sustainability. At the top of the hill, well hidden among the trees, lies Aadalshytterne, where you can spend the night in the wild and unique nature. Here you can wake up with the first rays of sunshine while the birds sing their morning song. The view over the valley is unique and offers you an extraordinary panorama. There is a campfire site near the huts for cozy evenings in the open air.
