Escape to the Baltic Sea: mini road trip for late summer
from hinterland.camp
Late summer has only just begun and we are celebrating this with a road trip along the Baltic Sea - with pure nature and cozy evenings around the campfire.
3 stops along the Baltic Sea
The route leads from Lübeck to Rügen, always along the Baltic Sea. You will travel a total of 460 km and stop at three different camps, where you are never far from the Baltic Sea.
- The road trip starts at one of the Hinterland community's most popular camps at host Sophia's organic farm near Lübeck. There you will find a great self-service farm store, bicycles for tours to the Baltic Sea and a bread roll service for your camper breakfast in the countryside.
- We continue with the furthest stage of the road trip to the beautiful natural property of host Simone at Barther-Bodden. You can camp there next to your fluffy sheep neighbors and the location is perfect for a bike tour along the Baltic Sea cycle path.
- Last but not least, you will be stranded on the beautiful and largest island in Germany: Rügen. There you can camp in the nature park right by the water of an idyllic lake with host Henry. Action is also guaranteed, as you can try your hand at water skiing and wakeboarding right on the lake in front of the campsite.
Idyllic organic farm near Lübeck
1. Stop
The road trip begins on a camp that leaves nothing to be desired. At hostess Sophia's organic farm, you not only get fresh bread rolls delivered to the camper in the morning, but you can also buy all kinds of ingredients for the camper's kitchen in the farm store - all organic, of course. From freshly baked bread, delicious milk and sausage products to crisp, fresh fruit and vegetables, great juices, wines and much more - you can be completely self-sufficient here. Bicycles and a cargo e-bike with four seats are available to hire for extensive bike tours to the Baltic Sea.
Per night and including 5 persons the camp costs 32€ (Price per night & spot)

Host Sophia's camp is one of the most popular and most booked camps in the Hinterland community and this is also reflected in the reviews.
Alexander rates his time on the farm with 5 stars and writes:
"Our stay at Sophia's farm was simply wonderful. She and her family are incredibly warm and made us feel welcome. We wanted for nothing and our children had lots of fun. We especially loved the chickens, which could be treated like cuddly toys, and the accessible pony, which was even suitable for the littlest ones.
The fresh vegetables and warm bread rolls were a highlight and enriched our stay. Sophia always patiently answered all our questions and showed us around the farm with a smile. The time passed far too quickly, but we are already looking forward to seeing you again. See you soon!"
Fantastic natural property near the Barther Bodden
2. Stop
We continue on to the second stage of the Baltic Sea road trip to a beautiful, natural camp owned by host Simone. The location of the camp is in the immediate vicinity of the Barther Bodden and offers a great connection to the Baltic Sea cycle path for long cycle tours along the water. Fluffy neighbors are included, as you can set up camp right next to the friendly herd of sheep. As there is hardly any light pollution on site, you can enjoy breathtaking evenings under a clear starry sky and not only count sheep, but even shooting stars to fall asleep. Another highlight is the stylishly furnished and super clean sanitary facilities.
Per night and including 3 persons the camp costs 32€ (Price per night & spot)

Campers who have already spent a night there rate the camp very highly.
Friederieke rates her stay on the natural site with 5 stars and writes:
"Beautiful, very spacious, quiet camp and incredibly nice hosts. The bathroom also leaves nothing to be desired. Also super child-friendly with a dog to cuddle and rabbits and sheep to feed. The trampoline was of course also loved by our 3 year old ;)
In 5 minutes you can cycle to a small harbor with a playground and a nice bistro. Barth, a cool adventure riding center and even Zingst are also easy to reach by bike.
We had a great vacation and would love to come back."
Unique camp right by the lake in the nature park on Rügen
3. Stop
The last stop is a fitting end to your Baltic Sea road trip on Germany's largest and most beautiful island: Rügen. You can set up camp right on the water's edge of the pristine lake with your host Henry and spend wonderful evenings here with panoramic views and campfire romance. There's also plenty of action here, as you can even go water skiing and wakeboarding on the lake or let off steam on the beach volleyball court just a few meters from the camp. In the summer months, Henry organizes smaller concerts on Thursdays and sometimes at the weekend or invites you to a barbecue on the main square. So there's never a dull moment here.
Per night and including 2 persons the camp costs 31€ (Price per night & spot)

The reviews also clearly reflect that the camp is worth a visit.
Sabine and Steffen rate their stay with 5 stars and write:
"A big thank you to Henry and his team. Everything was as promised, idyllic camp, nice team and great location in the middle of Rügen. The concert on Thursday with ZickZack was great. We danced a lot, laughed and then ended the evening together with the cable park team and the guitar. It was wonderful. We will definitely be back!!!
