Welcome to the ErlebnisHof in Hohenkirchen... High up on the mountain, on an old churchyard overlooking the Saxon Muldental valley, you can enjoy a different kind of camping experience with your camper, van, or a medium-sized trailer! Or you can pitch a tent next to your car... So there are many ways to camp. And it’s perfect for spending a loooooong weekend together with friends and kids.

And what many find most delightful is that we now have four donkeys—a small herd that brings great joy. There’s a colorful flock of chickens, as well as three tomcats who love to visit our guests.

You can choose a lovely spot to camp—under the ancient oak tree, next to the pool, in front of the Butzlhüttn, or even on the playground.

The convenient open kitchen and the huge, covered dining area (for an additional fee) promise unforgettable days at the colorful ErlebnisHof.

There might be a few more things to describe, but to pique your curiosity, let this suffice.

A warm welcome to the ErlebnisHof in Hohenkirchen!

Note regarding the driveway: at the rear of the ErlebnisHof is a fairly narrow, short, and slightly steep driveway. Vans, Sprinters, and similar vehicles up to 6 meters in length can make it up here just fine. The driveway is also no problem for smaller RVs. We ask that you assess this on your own responsibility! In the vast majority of cases, this is not a problem, and we guarantee you’ll have a wonderful time up here!

  • Shower

Showers must be paid in addition. Payable on site 3,00/person

A grill can be provided, you should bring your own charcoal and return the grill cleaned ONLY.

  • Fenced

  • Other (house rules)

Our animals talk to you, so be prepared for that. A small herd of donkeys can be quite noisy... It sounds tempting to say "feed us", but that's not necessary - we do it ourselves:-) And please don't go into their enclosure either. Feel at home here and have a good time.

Around the accommodation

  • Waste disposal

Paper & plastic may be disposed. Household waste please ask.

  • Grey water disposal

    Not possible

  • Kitchen

We have a well-equipped open kitchen with fridge, gas stove and oven, as well as sufficient crockery and everything you need for good culinary preparation. The all-inclusive daily fee is €8 and is payable in cash on departure. (Only dining area 2€/day)

Activities

  • MTB

There are enough good bike - and especially biker tours around our farm to experience. The Mulde Valley is ideal for this, to get to castles and palaces and to experience the small towns and cities in the area

  • Other activities

Pool is not always in use and can therefore only be used by prior arrangement.

  • Farm vacation

We have chickens from which we sell eggs when needed. The two donkeys Peppi and Nele are ErlebnisHof originals and like to have conversations... Furthermore, there are two tomcats and occasionally a guest dog, Labrador Kelev.

  • Hiking

Good paths lead to Rochsburg Castle across the beautiful Mulde Valley or to the basilica in Wechselburg.

  • Cycling

There are certainly good cycle tours from here with more or less hilly challenges. We can give you tips for places worth seeing. Hohenkirchen is at the top of the mountain, so you have to keep going back up 😉

We spent a wonderful long weekend with Lolita in the beautiful, sprawling parish garden—a place that’s both idyllic and quaint, with plenty of space and everything you could possibly need. There’s so much to explore on the farm and in the lovely surrounding area. We’ll definitely be back. Many thanks and best regards, Alexander, his son, and friends

A truly wonderful experience. Lolita and her family have a very large property with lots of animals. Our favorite animals were the four donkeys, which we got to cuddle with. They have a clean shared bathroom with a toilet and shower. We were given a quick tour upon arrival, and after that we had complete freedom to explore everything. I can recommend it to all animal lovers and families. The entire property is fenced in, and there’s a beautiful viewpoint right at the entrance. Thank you so much, and see you soon!
