This site is not suitable for the Grand California or custom-built RVs based on the VW Crafter (max. unloaded weight of 2.6 t). They are too heavy.

Only small caravans (up to 4 m) and small motorhomes are permitted.

Please do not drive onto the grassy area, as it is boggy ground.

Can you fall in love with a lake? Anyone who knows Lake Flögeler would answer that with a resounding “Yes.” The natural scenery here is enchantingly beautiful. The 155-hectare Lake Flögeler borders expansive moorland to the north. To the southeast, you’ll find eroded steep banks on a geest slope.

Your campsite is right on the lakeshore on a natural plot of land. Your host, Silke, is happy to offer you the mowed meadow with its own dock. A boat awaits you at the dock, which you can use to paddle out onto the lake. The water is only knee-deep at the shore, so you can splash around and swim, too. Please keep in mind that this is a natural moor lake—it won’t be crystal clear, but it’s by no means “dirty”—it’s actually healthy 😊.

All kinds of waterfowl live on the lake; in winter, whooper swans from Russia spend their winter here. Directly across from the lake is the newly renovated moorland nature trail, which offers an idyllic and informative walk through the moor.

You can also explore the moor via the MoorIZ’s moor train (which features a café-restaurant, themed playground, and interactive exhibition in the old peat plant).

You can grill, build a campfire, or do whatever else you feel like on your campsite. You can set out to explore the moor, go surfing on the lake, or drive to the beach at the Elbe estuary near Otterndorf. There’s a medieval castle to visit in Bad Bederkesa, along with a wonderful modern playground and a very nice restaurant by the lake (it’s the “5 Lakes Region”). Bike tours invite you to ride from lake to lake.

Or you can do what this place does best: nothing. Just sit there and look out at the lake, which looks different at every hour of the day. But it’s always beautiful enough to fall in love with.

  • Our stay at Lake Flögelner with Silke was truly wonderful. The arrangements and travel were hassle-free, and the place was just as described—clean and with plenty of activities nearby. The boat provided allows you to enjoy lovely trips on the lake, which is also perfect for swimming. The nearby hiking trails are also highly recommended. If you’re looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place for you.

  • The spot by the lake is really beautiful! We were there all by ourselves for two days and enjoyed the peace and quiet. We did find it a bit of a challenge that there was no water—other than the lake—for washing. We were traveling by bike and tent, so our water supply was limited. The information about this is provided, as is the fact that you have to dispose of toilet waste yourself, but it still bothered us a bit.

  • Everything was clean, and the hostess was very nice and always replied quickly 😊 I'd love to stay there again
