The pitch is located directly on our farm surrounded by ostriches, chickens, peacocks, rabbits, horses and goats. IT IS QUIET TIME BETWEEN 1200 AND 1600 HRS. CHECK IN BETWEEN 12-16 O'CLOCK IS NOT POSSIBLE. Regular check-in is possible from 4 pm. From 2200 hrs check in is no longer possible.
Nearby are two beautiful small towns with old city walls, the RMD canal, a very nice and free natural swimming pool in Freystadt (5km) and a beautiful thermal bath in Neumarkt (approx. 15km). There are also many cycle paths. There is a playground about 200 meters from Hof in the village. We also have a swing and a trampoline at the farm.

We wanted to spend a night at the ostrich farm and were supposed to let them know shortly before our arrival. Twenty minutes before we arrived, we sent an email, rang the doorbell, called out, honked the horn, and made phone calls. No one answered. After a quarter of an hour, we drove on. About 20 km further on, we got a callâour host was completely baffled! I told him, âWe drove on.â Heâs fine!!! The pictures donât match reality. __________________ Hostâs response: __________________ Iâm sorry you were in such a hurry. It says in the description that youâre supposed to let us know when youâre arriving, since we canât always just wait for youâwe have to get out in the fields sometimes, too. If you send me an email 20 minutes beforehand, that doesnât help me at allâI canât constantly check to see if anyone has written. Weâre not a campground with a reception desk thatâs always staffed; weâre a farm. You wanted to stay here overnight, but you didnât even have 10 minutes to wait until I called you back. Iâm sorry, but I canât help you with that.... By the way, the photos are ours and accurately reflect reality.
We stopped here for one night on our way through, staying in our rooftop tent. It was nice, clean, and hassle-free. Weâd definitely come back.
Quiet location - restrooms available - interesting animals
We had a wonderful time there. Lots of animals, friendly camping neighbors, and a lovely host family who always made sure everything was in order and took great care of their guests. The ostriches are, of course, something specialânot something you see every day. The area is very beautiful, with plenty of peace and quiet and a stunning view, and we highly recommend the natural swimming area in Freystadt. For the singing roosters in the coop, you might want to pack some earplugsâŠif you donât already have them with you. Weâd love to come back anytime!
