Cozy family cabin with a great view over Hodnekilen, located by the Otra River.

The cabin is situated about 6 meters from the water in a sunny spot, featuring a terrace with garden furniture. There is a shallow-entry swimming area right in front of the cabin.

- Between June 25 and August 8, bookings must be for a minimum of one week.

The cabin is approximately 50 m² and includes one bedroom with a family bunk bed (double bed on the bottom, single on top) and a small sofa bed, plus another bedroom with a double bed—accommodating 4–6 people in total.

The kitchen is equipped with most essentials for self-catering.

The stove and small refrigerator run on gas. A wood-burning stove in the living room provides heating.

The cabin does not have mains electricity; however, a solar power system provides electricity for lighting, as well as for charging mobile phones or tablets. Charging is done via a standard phone charging cable—please bring your own USB cable.

The TV in the cabin runs on 12 volts and includes the Canal Digital "Family Package."

There is a biological composting toilet located outside.

A rowboat is available for use during the summer. Use of the boat is at your own risk; please bring your own safety equipment to ensure you have the correct size. The barrel sauna and hot tub by the cabin are wood-fired. The hot tub is closed during the winter, but the barrel sauna can be used year-round.

The cabin does not have running water or a shower; however, the sauna features a water tank that must be filled with water from the river. As the sauna stove heats up, it also warms the water in the tank, making it easy to wash yourself by mixing the hot and cold water inside the sauna and pouring it over yourself. Water for washing is fetched from the river (Hodnekilen). Please bring your own drinking water.

The sauna offers a truly relaxing experience. Highly recommended!

The hot tub is available for an additional fee. You must fill it with water using a pump from the river and light the stove yourself. It takes approximately 1 hour to fill the tub, and 5–6 hours to heat it up, requiring about 5–6 bags of firewood.

The cost per heating session is NOK 550 during the summer (includes 5 bags of firewood).

In the autumn, the price is NOK 900 (includes 6 bags of firewood).

Please note: The hot tub is closed during the winter season, from October 1st to April 30th.

If you wish to purchase additional firewood, it costs NOK 110 per 60-liter bag, payable to the host.

All firewood must be purchased from the cabin.

The cabin is rented out to responsible guests who are accustomed to this type of rustic, wilderness cabin. Suitable for families or 1–2 quiet, adult couples; not for groups.

The owner has two cabins in the same area, located approximately 100 meters apart. Both cabins are equipped with their own barrel sauna. The sandy beach and the piers are shared between the cabins; guests from the other cabin are permitted to access the pier and use the beach in front of your cabin.

To reach the cabin, you can choose between taking a rowboat across Hodnekilen (a crossing that takes about 4 minutes) or walking along a forest path (approximately 250–300 meters). During the winter, you must walk.

It is about 8 km to Evje, where you will find shops, restaurants, and more.

Local attractions include Mineralparken, go-karting, rafting, and a climbing park. You can also visit Kilefjord Camping, located about 1.5 km from the cabin; they sell fishing licenses, fishing gear, ice cream, fast food, and more.

Please note:

- You may hear some traffic noise from the road on the other side of the water; otherwise, it is a lovely place to stay.

- The sandy beach and the piers are shared with the other cabin.

- The boat is available for use only during the summer season (approx. April 15 – October 15).

- Otherwise, it is a walk of about 250 meters to the cabin.

- No dogs or cats allowed, due to allergies.

- Water levels in the river vary.

Please behave appropriately and respect others' property.

- Do not damage anything. Smoking inside the cabin is prohibited.

- Please bring your own bed linen, towels, toilet paper, and candles. Firewood is provided at the cabin.

- Please bring your own drinking water.

- Clean the cabin thoroughly after use.

- The hot tub is closed during the winter season (October 1 – April 30), but the sauna is available for use year-round.

- One bag of firewood is included in the price; additional bags cost 110 NOK each.

- Between June 25 and August 8, bookings must be for a minimum of one week.
