Here you are right in the heart of the beautiful Mosel-Saar-Ruwer hiking region!

The “Wasserliescher Panoramasteig,” a hiking trail through forests and vineyards, across meadows, and along a stream, passes right by the entrance to the site.

Just a few minutes’ walk from this residential street is a central meadow where you can camp. There’s also a small clay-and-gravel area where a car—with or without a roof tent—can park.

Since the access road is very narrow and steep, RVs unfortunately cannot drive up there and park. In the photos, you can see the access road and the parking area to get an idea for yourselves.

On the natural campsite, there’s a cabin with a table, seating, and electric lighting powered by a solar panel and a 12-volt battery. This way, you can stay dry in the evening if it happens to rain.

You can spend the night in the hut on your own sleeping pad if you move the chairs aside.

Next to the hut, you’ll find a fire pit and a dry, separation-type toilet.

Please note that due to the risk of forest fires caused by flying sparks during periods of extreme drought, no fires are allowed!!

It’s about a 20-minute walk to the Moselle and about 10 minutes to the train station. This nature spot is therefore very easily accessible by both train and car, yet you still feel far away from civilization!

  • Anke is a friendly host. The site is best suited for tents or off-road vehicles (possibly with a rooftop tent). The meadow is located at the edge of the forest, next to some houses. A few meters further on, there’s a great view; the forest is just a short walk away. There’s an old cabin and a dry-separation toilet. We enjoyed staying there.

  • A super quiet and beautiful place to stay. We were only there for one night, but the location is truly gorgeous—at night you can hear the owls hooting in the trees right behind the cabin, and in the morning we were woken up by the birds. Anke responds very quickly and is super nice and helpful.

  • A lovely spot, and a very kind and responsive host. Everything you need to know is actually laid out quite clearly in the description. The driveway is a bit steep, but we had no trouble getting up and down in a regular car. Up at the meadow, you’re shielded on all sides, and despite the proximity to houses along the road below, you’re completely on your own. Our dogs, whom we usually keep on a leash, were able to roam freely around the camp without any problems. The composting toilet is great—everything is clean and hygienic. It’s great for hiking—you just have to walk back down the driveway, and you’ll find yourself right on several marked hiking trails. Thanks to its proximity to Trier, the scenery is also beautiful. We’ll definitely be back.

  • Anke is an amazing host, he got back to us very quickly with any questions we had and the property was absolutely beautiful. The location is great too, very close to the train station and many trails.

  • We ended up not going to the campsite due to car problems and illness. But the host were very pleasant and easy to comminicate with!
