Anke is a friendly host. The site is best suited for tents or off-road vehicles (possibly with a rooftop tent). The meadow is located at the edge of the forest, next to some houses. A few meters further on, there’s a great view; the forest is just a short walk away. There’s an old cabin and a dry-separation toilet. We enjoyed staying there.
We spent four nights at Anke’s place in the meadow and were able to relax away from the noise of the big city. Communication with Anke was very friendly. Plus, Wasserliesch is a great base for trips to Trier and hiking; there are also several hiking trails just a short drive away. The driveway has a fairly steep incline and winds through a residential area. Since we arrived late at night, we had to park on the street the first night and carry our belongings to the meadow on foot so as not to disturb the neighbors. After a long drive and given the considerable weight of our camping gear, this really took its toll on us and should be taken into account when planning your trip. Despite the natural setting and the adjacent forest, you should be aware that you’re also near a road and the town, so you’ll hear cars and farm machinery during the day. However, despite the proximity to residential homes, the elevated location and the trees surrounding the meadow give you a sense of seclusion.
A super quiet and beautiful place to stay. We were only there for one night, but the location is truly gorgeous—at night you can hear the owls hooting in the trees right behind the cabin, and in the morning we were woken up by the birds. Anke responds very quickly and is super nice and helpful.
A lovely spot, and a very kind and responsive host. Everything you need to know is actually laid out quite clearly in the description. The driveway is a bit steep, but we had no trouble getting up and down in a regular car. Up at the meadow, you’re shielded on all sides, and despite the proximity to houses along the road below, you’re completely on your own. Our dogs, whom we usually keep on a leash, were able to roam freely around the camp without any problems. The composting toilet is great—everything is clean and hygienic. It’s great for hiking—you just have to walk back down the driveway, and you’ll find yourself right on several marked hiking trails. Thanks to its proximity to Trier, the scenery is also beautiful. We’ll definitely be back.
Anke is an amazing host, he got back to us very quickly with any questions we had and the property was absolutely beautiful. The location is great too, very close to the train station and many trails.
We ended up not going to the campsite due to car problems and illness. But the host were very pleasant and easy to comminicate with!
A really beautiful, quiet spot. At night, we had some lovely visitors—deer and owls. The Moselle is within walking distance, and you can get to Luxembourg quickly by ferry. There’s solar power for your cell phone, a clean composting toilet, and a cozy shelter for bad weather. Anke sent us all the information before we arrived, so the self-check-in went smoothly and everything was self-explanatory. Many thanks to Anke for sharing this wonderful spot.
