  • A place that’s almost like something out of an advertising brochure—adventure, unspoiled nature, starry skies, freedom, and wide-open spaces—whether you’re traveling in an RV, with a trailer, or staying in a teepee, or exploring by bike or on foot! In July 2026, I set up camp for four nights at the campsite with my trailer. Even upon arrival—despite arriving later than the usual check-in time of 8:00 p.m. (a phone call was all it took)—I was greeted with a warm and welcoming reception and orientation (water, electricity, restrooms, fire pit, the site itself, etc.), after a drive of about 500 km, I immediately felt a sense of having arrived, of hospitality, and of very pleasant friendliness; in short, the feeling: “Here I am a person, here I am welcome!” Not only is the size of the meadow campsite—with its large, level areas (making leveling quick and easy)—very pleasant, but so is the “surrounding environment”: Hardly any bothersome insects—in part because the numerous swallows, swifts, and other nocturnal animals dutifully and busily help themselves to the “set table.” Without urban light pollution, on clear nights there’s actually still darkness and a wonderful starry sky, nestled in silence, right in the middle of the Milky Way. What makes it special—and not just for RV drivers—is that the constellation “Big Dipper” shines right above the campsite 😅 The campsite feels like a biotope where even “venerable” trees (so-called deadwood) are allowed to stand, which will likely serve as an essential habitat for many beneficial insects. The relatively high humidity at night (the Hase River is only 300 m away) is rewarded with mystical morning fog. CONCLUSION: A fantastic, spacious campsite that delivers on its promises, with creative options for setting up or moving your vehicle based on compass direction and/or shade, without the need for maneuvering—for example, when arriving with a trailer—and featuring the very friendly hosts Andre and his family!

Unfortunately, a neglected farm meadow, a restroom with no toilet paper, and power cables hidden behind overgrown bushes. Everything was pretty run-down.
