Counting sheep under the starry sky at the organic farm

At our farm in Franconian Switzerland, we have 2–3 campsites for vehicles up to approximately 7 meters in length.

The wooden cabin next to the paved area features a seating area, and the hot plates are available for use.

There is a composting toilet in the courtyard that can be used at any time.

Small amounts of wastewater from daily dishwashing can be disposed of in the house by arrangement.

Washing machine and showers are available upon request for a fee.

Camping is possible at certain times upon request.

A fire pit is available for cozy evenings around the campfire.

You can bring your own firewood or purchase it from us.

We have prepared boxes of wood.

You are welcome to buy fresh eggs, honey, lamb, and lamb sausage from us.

Self-service beverages are kept chilled in the cabin.

Electricity is available on-site; water can be refilled whenever we are home.

There are seating areas on the farm that invite you to take a break and watch the animals.

For younger children, a balance bike, BobbyCar, and pedal bulldog are available.

For a small rental fee, children’s bicycles, strollers, buggies, and baby carriers are available.

The playground with a climbing tower is just 50 meters away.

The Wiesent River runs right by here and is still “shallow” in this section.

You can walk to the pier by the water, and there’s also a small rock formation just around the corner.

If the garden is yielding enough, we can also provide vegetables from the farm!

Occasionally, I can also provide you with fresh, homemade rolls.

The farm shop offers organic, bulk goods (muesli ingredients, legumes, pasta, spreads, ...)

Franconian Switzerland is ideal for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, ...

Just a few meters behind our farm, which is located on the edge of the village, you can hop right on the bike path.

In the nearby town of Hollfeld, 500 meters down the bike path, you can enjoy a nice meal, have some ice cream, or visit the outdoor pool.

Here you can also stock up on supplies for your excursions at the butcher, bakery, and supermarket.

A baker and a butcher’s truck come to the village on Tuesday at noon.

Places to visit:

The natural swimming lake in Heiligenstadt is 16 km away, and the canoe rental in Doos is 20 km away.

Pottenstein, with its many attractions such as stalactite caves, a summer toboggan run, and hiking trails, is just a 25-minute drive away.

Bayreuth and Bamberg are just a 30-minute drive away.

In Franconian Switzerland, there are many castles and castle ruins to explore.

Rabenstein Castle, Rabeneck Castle, ...

On the Farm:

We have many animals on our farm that you can visit to pet and admire.

Rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, cats, and dogs

There is usually a small flock of sheep on the farm as well.

We have the sheep’s wool made into pellets for the garden, and there is also loose wool that I’d be happy to pack up for you.

We’d be happy to arrange a more extensive farm and pasture tour for interested guests. Our sheep and goats are out on interesting meadows and pastures from around mid-April to the end of November, where there is plenty to explore and learn about. Whenever possible, we incorporate this into our daily routine, and you can watch us work, ask questions, and explore the surroundings. On the farm for groups of 2 or more, off-site for groups of 4 or more.

Farm work continues throughout the year.

At the parking area, we have to load sheep once a year and unload them once a year.

This usually takes place in April/May and November and lasts just a few minutes.

We also drive by in June/July during hay harvest season with our small tractor, which is sure to be exciting for some.
