Organic farm in Franconian Switzerland on the Wiesent river

On our farm in Franconian Switzerland, we have 2-3 parking spaces up to approx. 7 meters in length. Camping is available on request, provided that a meadow area has been mowed. When booking, please indicate the type of vehicle you will be arriving in. Length, number of people, approximate arrival time, so that I can assess which space is best suited for you.

We also have a nice spot in the front yard, but it is not always available. There is no wooden hut here, but there is a seating area surrounded by greenery and the toilet is closer.

The dirt road, which is only used by us for hay harvesting, is also a good place to park. Up by the wooden hut, there is also plenty of room for 3 campers to park together, but this cannot be booked in advance and must be mentioned when booking, as I only put 3 together on request. Electricity is available on site, and water can be refilled whenever we are at home.

In the wooden hut next to the paved area, there is a hut with seating and a simple kitchen. There is a compost toilet in the yard that can be used at any time. Small amounts of dirty water from daily washing up can be disposed of in the house by arrangement. Washing machine and showers are available on request for a fee. Dry firewood can be purchased for the fire pit.

There are seats in the courtyard that invite you to take a break and watch the animals. For smaller children, there is a balance bike, BobbyCar, and pedal tractor available. Children's bicycles, strollers, buggies, and child carriers are available for a small rental fee. 50 meters away is the playground with a climbing tower. The Wiesent river also runs along here and is still "small."

You can go to the jetty by the water and there is also a small rock around the corner. Fresh eggs, honey, lamb meat, and sausage are also available for purchase! If the garden is producing enough, vegetables from the farm are also available!

Occasionally, I can also provide you with fresh, homemade rolls. The farm shop sells organic unpackaged goods (muesli ingredients, legumes, pasta, spreads, etc.). Franconian Switzerland is ideal for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, etc.

A few meters behind our farm, which is located on the edge of the village, you can immediately start cycling on the bike path. In the nearest small town of Hollfeld, 500 meters away on the bike path, you can enjoy a nice meal, eat ice cream, or go to the outdoor pool. Here you can also stock up on supplies for your excursions at the butcher, baker, and supermarket. On Tuesday at noon, a baker and a butcher truck come to the village.

Excursion destinations: The natural swimming lake in Heiligenstadt is 16 km away and the canoe rental in Doos is 20 km away. Pottenstein, with its many excursion destinations such as stalactite caves, summer toboggan run, etc., and hiking trails can be reached in 25 minutes. Bayreuth and Bamberg can be reached in 30 minutes.

There are many castles and castle ruins to discover in Franconian Switzerland. Rabenstein Castle, Rabeneck Castle, ... On the farm: We have many animals on our farm that you can visit to pet and look at. Rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, cats, and dogs. There is usually also a small flock of sheep on the farm.

We use the sheep's wool to make pellets for the garden, and there is also loose wool that I am happy to pack up for you. We are happy to arrange a larger farm and pasture tour for interested guests. From around mid-April to the end of November, our sheep and goats graze on interesting meadows and pastures where there is a lot to explore and explain. If possible, we will incorporate this into our work schedule and you can look over our shoulders, ask questions, and explore the surroundings. On the farm for 2 or more people, outside the farm for 4 or more people. Adults €7, children 4-14 years €5. Farm work continues throughout the year.

Once a year, we have to load sheep onto the trailer and once a year we have to unload them. This usually takes a few minutes in April/May and November. We also come by with the small tractor in June/July for the hay harvest, which is sure to be exciting for some.
