Camping Among the Sheep: A Natural Idyll in the Beise Valley

Hello and a warm welcome to the “Schäferei.” We—Sabine and Sven, along with a livestock guard dog and a few sheep—are your hosts on the outskirts of the village, where you’ll find good transportation links and proximity to nature.

We’ve found our “little Swedish Lapland” here and are partly self-sufficient.

Our location is a great starting point for fantastic biking and hiking tours—or simply for relaxing.

Our property is situated between a stream, the Beise, and State Road 3254. At night and on weekends, you’ll find peace and quiet here. Access to the A7 federal highway is good, and it’s about 10–15 minutes away.

The North Hessian highlands welcome you with lush greenery, rolling hills, and the low mountain range of the Knüllgebirge. Here, foxes and hares still say good night to each other.

Nearby, there are canoe and kayak launch sites on the Fulda River. Plenty of nature and tradition await you as well.

You can choose between a “permanent” parking spot near the house or on an almost flat stretch of our pasture.

The Knüllwald “Böser Wolf” off-road park is just a few minutes away from us.

We’re not a luxury campsite and look forward to welcoming “world travelers” with their own gear.

A 4x4 isn’t required, but it’s advisable depending on the weather ;-)

The designated spot is accessible even without four-wheel drive.

Camping is possible by arrangement and subject to site availability.
