  • A peaceful place that historically reflects the history of West and East Germany. For that reason alone, it’s worth visiting—to experience the freedom of being able to camp in a place where people once had no such freedom, because there used to be a fence and a wall there, and it was a restricted area.

  • Fast and friendly communication. If you're looking for absolute peace and quiet, this is the perfect place for you.

  • A beautiful, quiet spot—since the bridge to Rudophstein has been closed for years, hardly any cars pass through. During the GDR era, this parking area was in the border zone. The terrain here slopes steeply uphill and downhill, which older visitors or dog owners with older dogs should keep in mind. The site is lovingly maintained by the villagers, which is why I think it’s a shame that not a single cent of the parking fees goes to the community.

  • A beautiful campground with a great host! We had a truly wonderful time at the campground. The location right by the river is fantastically peaceful, and there’s an incredible amount of green space—absolutely ideal for relaxing and playing with our child and dog. Communication with the host was always very friendly, prompt, and completely reliable. We felt completely at home and would love to come back! One small downside (though the host isn’t to blame for this): Despite the signs, some people from the village seem to use the path/area as a dog bathroom and don’t clean up after their dogs. As a dog owner myself, I find this completely incomprehensible. But since the host is really doing everything possible to address this, I won’t deduct a star for it. The place itself is simply too beautiful!

  • We used the campsite as a stopover and it was perfect for that. Playground for the children, quiet, beautiful ambience with sunset.
