Accommodation
The cabin full of stars, which we affectionately call the “Star Cabin,” is located right next to the Heidschnucken pasture. Here you can sleep soundly, cook a simple meal, and make yourselves comfortable…😊. The cabin stands in the meadow behind our farm, offering an unobstructed view of the countryside. There are also parking spots for our camper guests spread out across the large meadow.
The Star Cabin is more of a “glamping” accommodation than a vacation home and does not have a bathroom. A shower, toilets, and a large sink for washing dishes are located in the restroom building about 55 meters away, which is also used by our camping guests.
Our 400-year-old farm is located on the outskirts of Wachendorf, at the foot of the northern Eifel. Here you’ll find plenty of space on the large, grass-covered meadow, a campfire in the evening, a clay sauna, products from our Heidschnucken sheep, barbecue packages, and chilled drinks. We look forward to seeing you!
Amenities
The cabin is equipped with a spacious double bed and two sofa units (sleeping surfaces: 67x150 cm and 67x195 cm), which can be used as additional beds. Bedding and towels are included.
The cabin features a kitchenette with a 2-burner hotplate, a standard refrigerator, and a dining table, as well as basic kitchenware including pots and pans, a kettle, a cutting knife, cooking spoons, a selection of teas, a coffee pot (French press), dishes, glasses, and cutlery for 4 people. Fresh water and a sink are available in the restroom building, 55 m away. There is a 20-liter canister of drinking water in the cabin. (If anything is missing, please let us know; we live on the farm and can usually help.)
Outdoors & Fire Pit
On the large, freshly mowed lawn, all our guests gather together and socialize. You can lie in the sun, relax, play, and use the fire pit and grill. A table, chairs, and a lovely umbrella are available exclusively for you right next to the Star Cabin. A communal fire pit is located 15 m from the cabin. A wheelbarrow full of firewood is available for €15.
Sanitary Building
The restroom building is 55 m away. It features a very nice & spacious outdoor shower, naturally with cold & hot water and comfortable privacy screens, a large sink, and separate toilets with sinks for women and men. Additionally, an indoor shower with a unisex toilet is available in the courtyard building.
The clay sauna
We built our sauna ourselves; it is heated by a wood-burning stove. You can wonderfully enjoy the pleasant warmth radiating from the thick clay walls while looking out into the garden. We offer the sauna for a flat rate of €70 for exclusive use. This includes: wood for the fire, lighting and heating the sauna, as well as instruction on how to use it.
Food and Drink
The large refrigerator in the shed is stocked with cold beverages—from regional beer to Fritz-Schorle—available for self-service at reasonable prices.
We also offer products from our white-horned Heidschnuck sheep and other items for grilling. In cooperation with a small regional bakery, we provide a delivery service for fresh rolls.
About Us
We are sound chime makers, designers, and multi-craftsmen. For nearly 30 years, we have lived and worked here on the farmstead in the Eifel, a historic, listed half-timbered square farmstead whose oldest building is approximately 400 years old.
The Workshop & Store
The farm is home to our workshop for musically tuned chimes. Here, you can get a glimpse into the production of our handmade chimes and musical instruments.

The White Horned Heidschnucken
Our herd is outdoors all year round. By raising them, we make an important contribution to the preservation of traditional livestock. You can purchase sausages, meat, hides, and other products directly from us on-site. Upon request, we’ll be happy to send you a list of everything currently available.

Avoid Misunderstandings:
This is not a traditional vacation home—but a special place!
Dear Guests,
Please read the following information carefully:
1. Check-in 2:00 PM–8:00 PM: Please always arrange a time with us before your arrival. When you arrive, please stop in front of the small stop sign, then call us and wait for us. We will pick you up there. Under no circumstances should you stop
or park on the alpine trail or on the neighboring property!
2. There is no toilet directly in the Sternehütte. 55 meters away, in the
sanitary building, there is a separate toilet for women and men, as well as a unisex toilet in the courtyard building. Please leave the toilets as you would
like to find them.
3. There is no running water or shower directly in the Sternehütte. In the restroom building, there is a spacious, well-protected outdoor shower with hot water, as well as an indoor shower in the courtyard building.
4. There is a fire pit 15 meters from the Sternehütte with a large fire bowl, which must always
remain on the concrete slabs. This fire pit can also be used by camping guests. Camping guests have additional fire pits at their campsites that they can use. For barbecuing, we provide our guests with 2
tripods with grill grates.
Firewood is available for €15 per wheelbarrow.
5. Trash disposal: In the Sternehütte
there is a large trash can for general waste. Cardboard/paper, recyclables, and organic waste are collected separately. Please let us know if the trash can is full or if you need paper bags for organic waste.
Due to the possibility of foxes,
no trash may be stored outside the cabin.
6. Interim cleaning of the Sternehütte depends on the length of your stay and can be arranged individually with us.
7. We do not have a cleaning service that tidies up the grounds after guests! Please maintain the level of cleanliness that you yourself would like to find.
8. We have a large, freshly mowed lawn where all guests organize themselves. Otherwise, we have no written house rules, but we do have clear expectations regarding order and cleanliness.
9. We have 9 neighbors on our large property, with whom we interact respectfully and with discretion.
10. We can only allow dogs to run free if they are well-trained and if there is absolutely no chance that the dogs will bark at, corner, or otherwise approach other people. Dogs that are prone to such behavior may only be allowed on a leash.
11. Flying drones is not permitted on our farm and is very unpopular throughout the village.
12. Check-out 10:00–11:00: This is mandatory! Please come to the courtyard and ring the bell.
We are usually in the farm shop or the office around the corner starting at 9:00 a.m. and on weekends starting at 10:00 a.m.

200 meters away, there is a farm shop selling eggs, juice, vegetables, and fruit (seasonal only), as well as pasta and potatoes, but no dairy products or baked goods. There are a variety of shopping opportunities in Bad Münstereifel, 3 km away. The town is known for its outlet center, which is nestled in the historic old town.
Waste disposal
There is a large trash can for residual waste in the Sternehütte. Cardboard/paper, yellow dot, and organic waste are collected separately. Please let us know if the trash can is full or if you need paper bags for organic waste. Due to the possibility of foxes, no trash may be stored outside the hut.
Sauna
We built our clay sauna ourselves, and it is heated with a wood-burning stove. The pleasant warmth radiating from the thick clay walls can be enjoyed while taking in the wonderful view of the garden.
