Located about 1 km from town in a secluded spot. On clear days, it’s worth setting your alarm for a spectacular sunrise.

The Harz and Kyffhäuser regions offer many opportunities for excursions and activities.

Recommended destinations include:

Rüxleber Hof in Auleben with its farm café, the Kyffhäuser Monument, the Sondershausen Visitor and Adventure Mine, a hike to the salt spring and the Auleben burial mound field, the Bismarck Tower in Auleben (about 500 meters from the campsite on foot), the Uthleben Flea Market and Antique Barn, the IFA Technology Museum in Nordhausen, a steam train ride through the Harz Mountains on the historic Harz narrow-gauge railway, Wernigerode Castle and Aviation Museum, the Harz Bode Valley, the Bielener and Sundhäuser gravel lakes, a tasting and tour at the traditional Nordhausen distillery, Wernigerode Castle, hike up the Brocken, the historic town of Stolberg/Harz and the town of Quedlinburg, Barbarossa Cave in Rottleben and Heimkehle Karst Cave, action at "Harzdrenalin," and for families, the Hexentanzplatz + the cable car adventure world in Thale and the Harz Witch’s Realm in Rothesütte.

In spring and fall, you can observe the impressive crane migration at the reservoir.

In town, there is a pizzeria, a snack bar, a bakery (traditional artisanal business), fresh fish from the Auleben fish farm, and you are welcome to sign up for a wine tasting (Auleben elderberry wine).

Fire pit, covered seating area, and restroom (dry toilet with wood chips) available.

!!!!!Access only for off-road vehicles. (Buses/vans, off-road trucks, off-road motorcycles, MTBs). Unpaved terrain! Not suitable for caravans or standard RVs.!!!!!!

!!!Campfires are permitted only after consultation and exclusively at the designated fire pit!!!!
