Nature camping "Fuchseloch" near Forchtenberg

Update: January 19, 2026 To improve the usability of the area, extensive construction work was carried out at the end of 2025 to level the ground behind the hut. I have uploaded two pictures from the construction phase here. The site will be closed until March 31, 2026, to allow the lawn to recover. Stay tuned and wait to see the results. Description: 5 km from the pilgrimage site of Schöntal Monastery and the home of Götz von Berlichingen lies the "Fuchseloch" in the beautiful Kocher Valley – as we call our approx. 3,000 m² sloping, largely fenced meadow area – above the industrial village of Ernsbach (approx. 1,100 inhabitants).

There is a barbecue area and a wooden hut on the flat front part. Parking is available approx. 100 m from the property. However, it can only be accessed on foot. Vehicles can only access part of the property and only with the appropriate vehicle. The rear part, which is covered with apple trees, is flat at first but becomes increasingly steep. Nevertheless, the "Fuchseloch" offers plenty of space to run around and play. Perfect for families with children and dogs who want to treat themselves to a quiet break in the Hohenlohe region.

Culture and cuisine: The local restaurant "Zum Lamm" is a treat for connoisseurs of Swabian cuisine. Or you can visit the bistro at the Kocherwerk. In addition to hot and cold drinks, it also offers cakes, snacks, and small delicacies. You can round off your visit to the Kocherwerk on the sun terrace. Furthermore, the idyllic area offers perfect opportunities for hiking, for example to the Forchtenberg castle ruins – the birthplace of Sophie Scholl. In the hot summer months, the Kocher River with its sunbathing lawn at the sports field offers soothing relaxation and cooling. The Tiroler See lake, 5 km away, also offers fun for young and old with its volleyball court.

Facilities: There are plenty of seats inside and outside the hut. Additional loungers are available outside. Please bring your own crockery and plates. There is a small sandpit with toys for the children. Wood is only available in limited quantities. Please use it considerately so that the next guest can also enjoy it. Two 20-liter water canisters with tap water are available for your use. Please do not drink it. The generator is gasoline-powered. Price: The price of €15 is per person per night!
