Sleeping Car at an Idyllic Donkey Farm

Spend the night in our cozy sleeper car at an idyllic donkey farm and enjoy a very special getaway surrounded by nature, campfires, and animals. Whether it’s a romantic weekend for two, a short family getaway, or simply a few days to unwind—here you’ll enjoy peace and quiet, country life, and unforgettable encounters with our donkeys.

Your lovingly furnished “Dethleffs” sleeper car can accommodate two to three adults or two adults with up to two children. Cozy wool blankets, as well as comforters and pillows (90 × 200 cm), are provided. Please bring your own sleeping bag or bedding.

All around the farm, cozy seating areas, hammocks, and a scenic bench invite you to linger. Watch our donkeys, chickens, and ducks, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, or wind down the evening by the campfire.

Our lovingly furnished “Eselstube” is available for your meals. There you’ll find small dishes and drinks for purchase, as well as the option to reheat food you’ve brought with you.

A hot-water shower, a restroom, and an additional dry-separation toilet are available on the farm for shared use.

Our donkeys are the stars of the farm and love meeting curious visitors. If you’d like to learn more about the animals, you can visit the stables with the donkey farm manager. With a little luck, you might even get to help care for the donkeys—a special experience for young and old alike. Your own ponies, donkeys, and cats can be boarded with us by prior arrangement. Unfortunately, out of consideration for our farm dog Loui, we cannot accommodate dogs.

On cooler days, our wood-fired hot tub and rustic Hobbit sauna invite you to enjoy a soothing break. Savor the cozy warmth after a day in nature and experience the donkey farm at its most relaxing. Both options can be booked for an additional fee.

You can explore the beautiful surroundings right from the farm. Visit the historic old towns of Dinkelsbühl or Rothenburg ob der Tauber, enjoy the view from the Hesselberg, discover the Enchanted Forest in Fichtenau, or relax at the Aalen Thermal Baths. In the summer, Reiglersbach Lake and numerous hiking and biking trails invite you to enjoy varied excursions into nature.
