Current status of surrounding fields: Harvested (parking space visible) Hello, we are offering you a small parking space (approx. 10m x 13m) surrounded by greenery next to our former fire pond (approx. 10m x 10m). Conveniently located near the A30, the pond can be reached in approx. 10 minutes from the A30 exit no. 2 (Gildehaus / Gronau / Nordhorn). The pond is fenced in and can be accessed via a door with a combination lock. I will send you the code by message after you contact me. The camper is parked outside the fenced area. The pond can be reached via a paved road (the pavement is no longer in the best condition as the road has been decommissioned). However, it is still very passable with a camper/motorhome. Unfortunately, water and electricity connections are not available as the pond is too remote. You can make yourself comfortable on the small jetty by the pond and watch our runner ducks. The surrounding fields are, of course, dependent on the season. After the harvest, the area is relatively open, so we recommend the summer months from April/May to September/October. Then the fields are cultivated and you are surrounded by corn or grain fields.
If the pond is not booked, there are no fixed rules for arrival and departure. If the pond is occupied and booked by other campers, departure should take place by 2 p.m. Nearby is the Waldseiter Hof and the Niermann restaurant, which serves regional dishes at a fair price. If you are interested or would like tips for excursions, we are happy to help.
We have a public bookcase, which you will find at the intersection of Am Görfeld and Brünning Mensch. Anyone who wants to read a good book while enjoying a glass of wine in or around their camper in the evening is sure to find something there. The books are free and can be exchanged or kept. There is also a seating area right next to the bookcase where you can sit down and choose a book at your leisure. Children and adults are welcome to use our public swing...just try to swing as high as possible. :D There aren't many rules for our parking space, just please leave the space clean and free of trash. When barbecuing, please be mindful of the fire hazard; disposable barbecues placed directly on the grass are prohibited. If possible, have water ready to extinguish any fires.
For more tips on sights, restaurants, and much more, feel free to write to me via WhatsApp and I will help as best I can, or at https://www.grafschaft-bentheim-tourismus.de/. Unfortunately, our beautiful Bentheim Castle is permanently closed due to renovation work. There are guided tours around the castle and the castle park. Further information is available from the Bad Bentheim Tourist Information Office.
For all campers traveling with children, your kids are welcome to use our soccer field, and we also have a public swing that can be used. The soccer field can be used at any time and is located very close to the parking space (approx. 100-200 m).
During harvest and sowing season, agricultural equipment may be in use in the surrounding fields. Field work usually does not take very long. Best regards and have a relaxing time with us in the middle of nowhere. Tanja, Karsten with Max
