Hello,
We are offering you a small camping spot (approx. 10 m x 13 m) surrounded by greenery next to our former fire pond (approx. 10 m x 10 m). Conveniently located near the A30, the pond can be reached in about 10 minutes from A30 Exit 2 (Gildehaus / Gronau / Nordhorn). The pond is fenced in and can be accessed via a gate with a combination lock. I will send you the code via message after you contact me. The camper is parked outside the fenced-in area. The pond is accessible via a paved road (the pavement is no longer in the best condition, as the road has been decommissioned). However, it is still very easy to drive on with a camper or RV. Unfortunately, there is no water or electricity available, as the pond is too remote. You can make yourselves comfortable on the small dock by the pond and watch our ducks. The surrounding fields, of course, depend on the season. After the harvest, the area is relatively open, so we recommend the summer months from April/May through September/October. Then the fields are cultivated, and you’ll be surrounded by corn or grain fields.
If the pond is not booked, there are no fixed rules for arrival and departure. If the pond is occupied and booked by other campers, departure should take place by 2:00 PM.
Nearby is the Waldseiter Hof and the Niermann restaurant, where you can find regional dishes at a fair price. We’re happy to assist with any questions or suggestions for day trips.
We have a public bookcase located at the intersection of Am Görfeld and Brünning Mensch. Anyone looking for a good book to read in the evening with a glass of wine by or inside their camper is sure to find something there. The books are free and can be swapped or kept. There’s also a seating area right next to the bookcase where you can sit in peace and choose a book that suits you. Both children and adults are welcome to use our public swing...why not try to swing as high as you can? :D
There aren’t many rules for our campsite, but please leave the area clean and free of trash. When barbecuing, please be mindful of the fire hazard; disposable grills placed directly on the grass are prohibited. If possible, please have water on hand to extinguish the fire.
For more tips on sights, restaurants, and much more, feel free to message me on WhatsApp and I’ll help as best I can, or email me at https://www.grafschaft-bentheim-tourismus.de/
Unfortunately, our beautiful Bentheim Castle is permanently closed due to renovation work. Guided tours are available around the castle and the castle park; further information is available at the Bad Bentheim Tourist Information Office.
For all campers traveling with children, your kids are welcome to use our soccer field; we also have a public swing set that is free to use. The soccer field can be used at any time and is located very close to the campsite (approx. 100–200 m).
During harvest and planting season, agricultural equipment may be in use in the surrounding fields. Field work usually doesn’t take very long.
Warm regards and have a relaxing time with us in the middle of nowhere.

Hi Karsten. We really enjoyed our stay with you. The bread roll service and orange juice were included. Thanks, we'd love to come back.
Great location, great staff—very friendly.
A nice place to stay for one night.
It was a lovely long weekend, and you get exactly what’s described. There’s no electricity, no toilet, and no running water, but it’s very peaceful. Basically, no one ever comes by the site, you don’t have to check in anywhere, and it’s very flexible. Communicating with Karsten was a breeze, and the area is perfect for bike rides. I didn’t need anything else, and that was just fine 😊
Far away without being far away! Be inspired by our excursion tips in the most beautiful regions of Germany and find places for your overnight stay in the countryside.
