KarstenHello,
we have a small pitch (approx. 10m x 13m) in the middle of the countryside at our former fire extinguishing pond (approx. 10m x 10m). Conveniently located near the A30, the pond can be reached from the A30 exit no. 2 (Gildehaus / Gronau / Nordhorn) in about 10 minutes. The pond is fenced in and can be entered via a door with a combination lock. I will send you the code by message after contacting you. The camper is outside the fenced area. The pond can be reached via an asphalt road (the asphalt surface is no longer the best, as the road has been closed). However, it is still very easy to drive on with a camper/caravan. Unfortunately, there is no water or electricity available as the pond is too remote. You can make yourself comfortable on the small jetty by the pond and watch our runner ducks. The surrounding fields are of course dependent on the season. After the harvest, the site is relatively open, so we recommend the summer months from April/May - September/October. Then the fields are tilled and you are standing in the middle of corn or grain fields.
Nearby is the Waldseiter Hof and the Niermann restaurant, which serves regional dishes at a fair price. If you are interested or would like tips for excursions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We have a public bookcase, which you can find at the junction Am Görfeld / Brünning Mensch. Anyone who wants to read a suitable book for the evening with a glass of wine by or in the camper is sure to find something there. The books are free and can be swapped or kept. There is also a seat right next to the bookcase where you can choose a suitable book at your leisure. Children as well as adults are welcome to use our public swing...just try to swing as high as possible. :D
There are not many rules for our pitch, please leave the pitch clean and free of garbage. When barbecuing, please remember the fire hazard, disposable barbecues standing directly in the grass are prohibited. If possible, provide water to extinguish the fire.
For further tips on places of interest, restaurants and much more, please write to me via WhatsApp and I will help as best I can.
Best wishes and have a relaxing time with us in the middle of nowhere.

MTB
In the area of Bentheimer Wald, Isterberg and open-air stage every mountain biker gets his money's worth.
Playing by the water
For children, adults and dog owners, we recommend Lutterzand in the Netherlands. Very easy to reach by bike from the pitch (approx. 20-30 min. bike ride). https://www.visittwente.de/Die-Region-Twente/Natur-Landschaft/lutterzand/Bei warm weather, we recommend packing your swimming gear. ;)Alternatively, the Drilandsee (https://drilandsee-gronau.de/)
Hiking
Explore the area on foot. We can give you tips for beautiful routes when you contact us, and the Gildehauser Venn also invites you to go hiking and is easily accessible by bike. (https://www.nlwkn.niedersachsen.de/naturschutzgebiete/naturschutzgebiet-gildehauser-venn-41357.html)
Swimming
There is a bathing park nearby at https://www.badepark-bentheim.de/de/ and if you want to try swimming in salt water, the Bentheimer Mineraltherme is the place to go. There, salt water from a natural spring is used to fill the swimming pool, and a comfortably lit, heated outdoor pool invites you to swim even in winter. https://www.bentheimer-mineraltherme.de/ If you want to cool off in natural waters, you can do so in the Lutterzand area (NL) (see "Playing in the water"). There is also the Drilandsee in the area, where there is a water course for children (swimmers) in summer, SUPs are also allowed there.
