This natural setting awaits you

  • At/in the forest

Hello, fellow campers! 😊 We want to make sure your stay with us is enjoyable and safe. Please keep in mind that you are entering the grounds voluntarily and at your own risk, and that neither we as the operators nor the forest owners can accept liability for any property damage or personal injury. Respect nature, stay on the trails, and take good care of yourselves and your children. If you have any questions, we’re always here to help. We hope you have a wonderful time at Schaibencamp! 🌲⛺️

  • In a meadow

**A Quick Tip for Camping in Wet Conditions** Dear campers, In wet conditions, it can be difficult for large vehicles to leave the site. Therefore, park in such a way that you can back out or drive forward along the edge of the field. Good tires with sufficient tread provide greater safety. Stay relaxed and enjoy your camping experience! 😊

  • Between trees

  • By a river/stream

About 1 km away from the campsite is a well where you can draw fresh spring water!

What this place offers

Basics

  • Toilet

As much as we love nature—the forest isn’t a toilet 🌲💩

So please don’t relieve yourself in the bushes ✌️

You can either bring your own camping toilet or book one if needed.

🪠 Our composting toilet is a popular solution. For €10 per stay, the toilet is all yours. Using it is easier than you think:

Guests empty or replace the containers themselves—don’t panic, we won’t leave you to figure it out on your own 😅

We’ll of course provide everything you need: toilet paper, disinfectant, compost bags, and more.

    In short:

👉 Use the toilet = nature happy 🌿

👉 Use the forest = animals offended 🐄😜

    Thanks for joining in!

    10€ per stay

Thanks to Heiko for creating such a lovely spot and for letting us stay with you for four nights. Next time we’ll stay longer—we didn’t have enough time to see more of the area. A really great host👍

This place is perfect for a few relaxing days to unwind and recharge. The natural surroundings are beautiful, and there’s plenty to do in nearby Schönwald. I felt right at home the entire time and highly recommend this place to everyone ❤️😊

Yeah, an absolutely perfect experience. The surroundings are beautiful, with mountains, vast forests, and, above all, wonderful views that are often even more breathtaking than what we have up north. The campground itself is well-located; you can drive up and down as long as your car isn’t too low to the ground ;). The restroom isn’t complicated—it’s actually very well-designed and easy to use. The path from the campsite to the outhouse reminds you of those fairy tale movies from the ’90s: Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, and so on. That said, you have to admit that this path—and the one to the water source—isn’t exactly a walk in the park if you’re “way too out of shape.” The host, Heiko, is someone you can trust, and he’s also nice, polite, and helpful. The three of us stayed there and had a great time, even though we had a city guy with us who had never gone camping before. X)

Wonderful place! I was there alone and thoroughly enjoyed the solitude and the campfire. As a woman on my own, I wasn’t afraid at all. (Camping vibe) Everything went smoothly with Heiko. I wanted to test the dry-separation toilet because I still need something for the Volkswagen camper…it worked out. Too bad it’s so far from the Ruhr region. Thanks, Heiko, for your warm, friendly helpfulness! Hope to see you soon! Alex! 👍
