This place is perfect for a few relaxing days to unwind and recharge. The natural surroundings are beautiful, and there’s plenty to do in nearby Schönwald. I felt right at home the entire time and highly recommend this place to everyone ❤️😊
Yeah, an absolutely perfect experience. The surroundings are beautiful, with mountains, vast forests, and, above all, wonderful views that are often even more breathtaking than what we have up north. The campground itself is well-located; you can drive up and down as long as your car isn’t too low to the ground ;). The restroom isn’t complicated—it’s actually very well-designed and easy to use. The path from the campsite to the outhouse reminds you of those fairy tale movies from the ’90s: Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, and so on. That said, you have to admit that this path—and the one to the water source—isn’t exactly a walk in the park if you’re “way too out of shape.” The host, Heiko, is someone you can trust, and he’s also nice, polite, and helpful. The three of us stayed there and had a great time, even though we had a city guy with us who had never gone camping before. X)

Wonderful place! I was there alone and thoroughly enjoyed the solitude and the campfire. As a woman on my own, I wasn’t afraid at all. (Camping vibe) Everything went smoothly with Heiko. I wanted to test the dry-separation toilet because I still need something for the Volkswagen camper…it worked out. Too bad it’s so far from the Ruhr region. Top spot. The short hike to the Stöcklewald Tower is highly recommended, with places to stop for refreshments along the way.

An exceptional spot with a great secluded location. I spent a wonderful evening by the open fire. It’s a fantastic location, but you’ll need a vehicle with good tires or four-wheel drive.
What a beautiful place! This was my second visit, and definitely not my last. It’s a peaceful spot with lovely running trails and a great atmosphere. Heiko organizes everything very thoroughly. Thanks for that! 🌲🌳🏕
This was our second time at the beautiful Schaibencamp. We had an amazing winter camp in the heart of the Black Forest, just as we had hoped. We were able to go on wonderful winter walks in the enchanting snow-covered forest. All in all, it was a successful trip for all nature-loving outdoor enthusiasts looking for a camp in complete tranquility. Thank you very much! We'd love to come back again 👍🏻

Super nice, natural site with lots of peace and quiet. Heiko, the host, is super friendly and always available so that contact is completely problem-free. Anyone looking for peace and nature is definitely in good hands at this camp. A clear 10/10...I will definitely be back many more times!
Heiko is a super nice host. The pitch is very nicely furnished with a great fireplace. The wood for the campfire, which we also booked, is great. We also rented the premium toilet house, we can only recommend it! Many thanks for the effort! The communication before arrival is uncomplicated and very helpful. The camp is unique! A true Black Forest camp!!! Right in the heart of the beautiful Black Forest. In absolute peace and quiet and in a secluded location, we more than recovered and it was really more than difficult for us to leave. We were able to go on great hikes from the campsite and at night we had beautiful starry skies. The highlight for our dog was the crystal-clear water bowl right by the camp, where he had really great, fresh water to drink after the hike. The place is unique, fantastically beautiful, idyllic, quiet, decelerating. We recommend this dream campsite 100% and would love to come back. A really nice pitch. Unfortunately, we were only here for one night just passing through. Nevertheless, we were still able to get to know Heiko and are looking forward to a longer stay here at some point.

Heiko is a very available and attentive host :) The meadow is in a secluded yet not too isolated area. At night, when no cars are passing, you can enjoy the complete silence it offers. Very recommend for a gateway:)

Very nice host. The site is also highly recommended. In the middle of the forest and with a cloudless sky, the stars can be observed very well. It's definitely worth staying here for several days as there's lots to do.

It was perfect, quiet and beautiful!
We felt extremely comfortable in the Kuckucksnest and the communication with Heiko was also great - he even brought us an overview with tips for excursion destinations in the area, totally attentive! There is a hiking trail above the site, which cyclists and hikers pass by from time to time, and you can also hear the road in the distance very quietly - we personally didn't mind this at all, it was still very quiet and secluded. For late risers, it might be interesting to know that the sun only shines on the tent at the Kuckucksnest pitch in the late morning due to the location (mountains, trees) - so it doesn't get super hot or bright straight away in the morning. If you want to spend the whole day on the pitch and just relax, it's a good idea to bring a parasol or similar, because the sun (at least in summer with a clear sky) shines very strongly on the pitch from midday until late in the evening. All in all, it's a really nice location to spend a few days on your own and relax in the middle of the Black Forest - no comparison to a campsite, we'll definitely be back!

A really great spot, beautifully situated, lots of space, wonderful bird concerts in the morning and evening. I totally enjoyed it! Heiko is a very friendly and always available host, who even checked on me in between to see how I was doing! Top top top, I'll be back, no question!

Heiko is a really nice guy with whom communication couldn't be more uncomplicated! The spot is really beautiful, who wants to have his peace or just do not disturb anyone else is in good hands here! He brought wood as soon as we were there, the existing barbecue bowl is big enough to barbecue for several people, and there was also a small stream at our spot, so we always had cold drinks. There is a lot to see in the area, Heiko had already given us a map with places of interest in advance, which we used to find a good hiking route. Thanks again for your hospitality Heiko! Maybe we'll come back again next year 🤗

Hello, it is a fantastic place, everything exactly as described and even more beautiful. Unfortunately the storm put a spanner in the works and we had to leave after just one day, but it is an indescribable place and the hosts are very friendly. It was wonderful🚐🏕🐕🦺🌲🌲🌲🌲. The site is beautifully located, great for Radfahren🚵♂️ and hiking🥾. Schönwald has everything you need for a short trip. Small shops🥒🥖🥩, restaurant🍻🍰, natural outdoor pool 🏊♀️ and more. We felt very comfortable with Heiko. The contact was uncomplicated and very friendly💯. We would come back in a heartbeat😊.

Amazing spot - so lovely to be in a secluded area with an outlook over a field of flowers. Slightly confusing when we first arrived and took a little while to figure out if we were in the right spot, but otherwise everything was great. The firewood and fire pit were a lovely touch!

Very precise description of the check-in and a great hiking tip on request😃 The site is in a fantastic location and there was plenty of firewood available. The natural toilet was very clean and surprisingly fragrant. All in all, highly recommended, we definitely want to come back again👌

We camped in this wonderful spot in the middle of the Black Forest. We really liked this place and can highly recommend it. Heiko met us to explain everything. We are grateful that he gave us tips for excursions. The area was quiet and has many hiking routes nearby. There is also a lovely bakery nearby with delicious cakes. The new bio-toilet installed this weekend is another plus.

What a beautiful place. With a fire pit and planter with herbs. Enough space to position the camper ideally. Haiko is a very friendly person who is proud to tell us about the area. Wonderfully quiet place, we had fantastic weather and great walks directly in the adjacent forest.
We had a great, relaxing weekend with our lovely host Heiko. Hiking routes directly from the pitch, Heiko brought us a fire bowl with barbecue grill. Nearby there is a schnapps and beer house that has been lovingly prepared. We would love to come back!
We had a great time and wish we had found this location sooner. 2 or 3 nights under the stars here would've been perfect, but we definitely enjoyed our single night! Heiko was very friendly, the ground was soft and level for our tent, and the night was quiet and peaceful. Even though it had recently rained, we were able to get a campfire going... so much fun.
Heiko offers a camping pitch with a truly beautiful view that is perfect for nature lovers. He himself is extremely personable and makes his guests feel comfortable and welcome at all times. A wonderful place to come to rest and relax!

Great place in the middle of the forest. The hiking trails start right on site and there's lots to discover. We hiked to the Vesperstube and found a wild forest pub on the way :) Many thanks for this great place!

If you're looking for nature and peace and quiet, this is the place for you. We had a great time. You can set off in all directions directly from the campsite. Simply wonderful. The communication with Heiko was also great. We arrived late in the evening and Heiko still came by in person. Overall: simply great - from booking to departure. We would love to come back.

Nice host and beautiful, natural pitch. Very quiet location and equipped with everything you need (seating, fire and barbecue area). The surrounding area is ideal for hiking or simply relaxing. Also ideal for our dogs, who are unfortunately not so suitable for conventional campsites.

We only live three quarters of an hour away and will definitely be back! We had forgotten our French press, zap filter there! Heiko is a super great host, very friendly, you can tell he enjoys providing something so great. Pure nature. The place, completely in a secluded location, equipped with a fireplace and super nice welcome in an absolutely great view Super clean, nowhere garbage, because simply everyone helps a little. So that this wonderful place can stay that way! The Milky Way is so beautiful to see in summer. I can only say that you have to experience it! It was wonderful at Heiko's lovingly decorated pitch with flower boxes. Super relaxing, beautiful walks directly from the pitch and in the evening the wonderful starry sky with shooting stars and weather lights. Heiko is very obliging and helpful, we could always have contacted him via Whatsapp. Please always leave the pitch clean so that you can enjoy such a beautiful spot for a long time to come. We would love to come here again.

We were absolutely thrilled with this beautiful piece of nature, where we spent two nights. It was simply wonderful and the surrounding area offers an idyllic landscape. The contact with the landlord was totally uncomplicated! It was not the last time we stayed in this beautiful place!

We had a wonderful weekend, quiet and secluded. The process was very uncomplicated, we were even allowed to stay half a day longer. Any time again!
We are still here and it is still beautiful. As a follow-up to our previous review: Heiko would of course have tidied up everything on the site, but as this is an outdoor site and the iron rule applies among outdoor enthusiasts - always leave the site clean and, if necessary, cleaner than you find it, we did so. We wish our next guests lots of fun with the split wood and a wonderful stay. Roland & Sylvia
Heiko's nature camp is an absolute dream for nature lovers and independent outdoor travelers - a jewel in the crowded camping world. Anyone who loves peace and quiet and a place free of light pollution with a starry sky will find happiness here. Heiko is a great host and very helpful. To ensure that this remains the case and that everyone can continue to enjoy this wonderful place for a long time to come, please - toothpaste should not be spat into the fir trees (the game doesn't need these licks), wet wipes don't belong in the forest either and the charcoal from the campfire should certainly not be disposed of under the grass in the forest. Any forester would be horrified at the sight of this and Heiko would get angry at some point. If you don't like it, you're certainly better off on a campsite. We have removed the toothpaste and wet wipes, but not the charcoal as a deterrent. So let's all protect such beautiful places. On that note, have a wonderful time outdoors. Truly a beautiful, peaceful spot on earth. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back. Heiko is a very nice host and everything went wonderfully smoothly. The pitch is right on the edge of the forest. It is relatively flat and we stayed overnight without wedges. There is sunshine in the morning and shade from midday, which is really pleasant on hot days. A narrow tarmac path leads directly to the pitch, making access very easy.
A super beautiful place that leaves nothing to be desired for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet! Heiko is a super nice and absolutely helpful host (we were allowed to experience it to the fullest, thanks again for your help)! We will definitely be back!

A peaceful and secluded place to put up our tent and enjoy nature in beautiful surroundings 🏕 Nice location with the morning sun and shade in the evening. The place was as described. Also, there was a water tank that we could use. The host was very accommodating and friendly and stopped by to welcome us. In total, a very nice experience at a fair price 👌 We would like to come back 🤩

Heiko is a great host who always looks after the well-being of his guests. I wrote to him spontaneously on Sunday evening and he immediately confirmed that I could come. The pitch was really well maintained and clean and had just been freshly mown. There is even a fire pit with tinder and firewood ready so you can make a campfire. It was really nice to sit on the quiet edge of the forest and look into the fire and enjoy nature. I slept really well and continued my journey refreshed and recharged. The area here really has a lot of interesting sights, I'll definitely come back again when I'm in the area.

Simply WOW!!! We had a great weekend with Heiko in the clearing. The pitch / meadow was sooo big, you could run yourself tired there alone 😂😅. All surrounded by forest, forest and more forest. Fantastic pitch in a secluded location! The pitch is in the middle of the forest on a beautiful, large meadow. Schönwald is within walking distance, so we were able to end the evening in a restaurant after a short walk into the village. Definitely recommended! :-)
