We are located in the Schwalm-Nette Nature Park with its typical Lower Rhine landscape, characterized by water bodies such as rivers, lakes, streams and much more.

At the farm you will find a paved area or a pasture from where you can watch the chickens and horses. Talk to us if your children would like to go for a ride. Our horses are happy to take children for a walk.

We tell you about our animals, some of which are also hand-tame. A walk to the sheep is also possible. Depending on the weather and the location, we can offer a walk with the sheep.

  • Hello Hinterland Team, I personally canceled my stay with Maria because, given the heat at the time of my trip, I couldn’t in good conscience leave my home. I’ve kept the documents related to this stay and will make it up at a later date. I’ve also discussed this with Maria. Many thanks, S. Hermann

  • We had a wonderful stay. Maria gave us a warm welcome and showed us around. There’s a trampoline. Our kids loved it, just like they loved the guinea pigs and feeding the chickens. It was great that Maria was able to fit in a spontaneous horseback ride, so the kids got to ride, too. Thanks again for the restaurant recommendations. The food was delicious.

  • Overall, it was a lovely stay at Maria’s farm, and it’s especially great for kids because of the animals. Maria took the time to explain everything clearly to my niece. I also thought the 20-euro horseback riding excursion was reasonable. However, I didn’t feel the rest of the value for money was quite as good. The campsite alone costs 26 euros, so I think a toilet should be included. But they charged an additional 5 euros for that (contrary to what’s listed on Hinterland—2€)—we just didn’t need or use the electricity and water. On top of that, there was a 15-euro charge for firewood (Hinterland listed it at 10 euros). That brings the total to 46 euros for a spot with a toilet and firewood, which I actually found a bit steep for Hinterland. The weekend before, I had a wonderful spot without a toilet for 10 euros. That said, you can still spend a lovely weekend there with kids, and you’ll be warmly welcomed.

  • Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay there, and the kids didn’t want to leave. They were allowed to play with and pet the animals. There’s no need to set up the furniture, as a table and benches are already provided. It’s all very straightforward. We also really appreciated that there were no set check-in or check-out times—it was all by arrangement. We’d love to come back anytime.
