Overall, it was a lovely stay at Maria’s farm, and it’s especially great for kids because of the animals. Maria took the time to explain everything clearly to my niece. I also thought the 20-euro horseback riding excursion was reasonable. However, I didn’t feel the rest of the value for money was quite as good. The campsite alone costs 26 euros, so I think a toilet should be included. But they charged an additional 5 euros for that (contrary to what’s listed on Hinterland—2€)—we just didn’t need or use the electricity and water. On top of that, there was a 15-euro charge for firewood (Hinterland listed it at 10 euros). That brings the total to 46 euros for a spot with a toilet and firewood, which I actually found a bit steep for Hinterland. The weekend before, I had a wonderful spot without a toilet for 10 euros. That said, you can still spend a lovely weekend there with kids, and you’ll be warmly welcomed.
Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay there, and the kids didn’t want to leave. They were allowed to play with and pet the animals. There’s no need to set up the furniture, as a table and benches are already provided. It’s all very straightforward. We also really appreciated that there were no set check-in or check-out times—it was all by arrangement. We’d love to come back anytime.

We received a very warm welcome, were shown around, and were even allowed to pet some of the animals! The farm is in a lovely little village, and it's wonderfully quiet here!
We were given a very warm welcome and Maria showed us the pitch with the horses, chickens and goose. We were allowed to use the stable toilet, which was important for us as we were traveling with the roof tent. The weather didn't quite cooperate, but it was December after all. The surrounding area is great for walking and enjoying the countryside. We would definitely recommend it.
Very nice farm with horses, guinea pigs, chickens, dog and cat - Maria is a very friendly and reliable hostess who "provides" you with great excursion tips and information about the animals. We had three really relaxing and successful vacation days there...
Even though we hardly spent 24 hours on Maria and her family's farm, we immediately felt at home and really welcome due to the extraordinary warmth of all the family members (including all the animals). Nice people and a rural idyll... We had a great time here! Thank you very much!
My girls and I had a wonderful stay with Maria and Sven. They are very friendly hosts and Maria gave my girls 2 wonderful days with the horses, including a horseback ride in the beautiful countryside. You can tell that there is a lot of love in the farm and especially in dealing with the many animals. We would love to come back!
Contact was quick, friendly and simple. Place on meadow where goose, turkey, hen and 🐓 have their area. Would love to come back when we are nearby.
Maria is nice and uncomplicated. We were able to postpone one night at short notice. Her farm is beautiful and children in particular have lots to see.
It was our first adventure with Hinterland and we were not disappointed...we were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. The sleeping area between the horses and the chickens is perfect and not only the children liked it. We are already planning when we can come back next time.
Spent a spontaneous night with Maria. We were warmly greeted and welcomed. Maria gave us a brief tour and showed us all the animals. Later, we were allowed to help feed the chickens and our little one was even allowed to go for a guided ride on the horse. We ended the evening on a lovely wooden bench. The sanitary facilities were clean. We would love to come back when we are in the area.

We felt totally at home on the farm. Maria gave us a very friendly welcome and showed us around. We got on really well. The location is very quiet and the surrounding area is wonderful to explore by bike. If we ever visit the area again, we would love to come back.
It was very idyllic at Maria's, the arrival and pitch were great and uncomplicated. If we are ever in the vicinity of Mönchengladbach again, we will be happy to come back.
All thumbs up for this place! Maria gave me a friendly welcome and showed me around. The hosts were always approachable, friendly and helpful. From the pitch I had a direct view of chickens, turkeys and a goose. From the other window, I had a direct view of the horses. A cozy table bench invited me to linger. I also had very good weather and was able to soak up the sun for the first time this year. Also great for travelers with children. There are lots of animals and appreciative explanations about keeping and caring for them. In short, a really charming place!
We had a great time on the farm with all the animals. Maria told us a lot about the animals. The children would love to go back very soon. Maria is a great hostess, very helpful and friendly. Thank you very much for the great adventure overnight stay with you ; - ).
