There are often also petting enclosures where you can get to know rabbits and guinea pigs. What can children learn on the farm?

On a farm vacation, children learn a lot about nature, agriculture and the origin of their food. They learn that milk doesn't just come from the supermarket, but that cows have to be milked for it, and that vegetables such as potatoes or carrots first have to be planted and harvested before they can be made into a delicious soup. Children develop an awareness of sustainable nutrition and the respectful treatment of animals and nature. Helping out on the farm also teaches them responsibility and develops their motor skills when they are actively involved in feeding, milking or sowing. This makes a farm vacation not only an exciting experience, but also a valuable learning experience.

Regional specialties from the farm store

A visit to the farm store is a real highlight for many camping holidaymakers. Here you will find regional specialties that are often produced directly on the farm or sourced from neighboring farmers. Freshly picked fruit and vegetables, handmade jams, honey from our own apiary and eggs from free-range chickens are among the typical products that reflect the taste of the region and make great souvenirs from your vacation. Homemade cheeses and sausages, fresh bread, juices and ciders are also among the hallmarks of many farm stores. Shopping in a farm store is not only an opportunity to buy high-quality and often organically grown food, but also a valuable experience: you can talk directly to the producers, ask questions about production and often even watch how the products are made. It is particularly exciting for children to discover the origins of their food and take away a sense of sustainability and regionality. You can use the ingredients you buy straight afterwards in the camper kitchen and test whether home-made food really does taste better in the fresh air than at home... ;)
