from Amelie Corves

Say goodbye to cable chaos and sock monsters. These 6 gadgets will help you organize your van and maintain order in the long run.

1. Clutter Buster: Hanging shelf for everything that's left

Card games, mosquito spray, flashlight, ... They belong neither in the storage space for kitchen utensils nor in the sock compartment: There are simply things that don't fit into any theme. To keep all these items within easy reach and organized, we recommend hanging shelves with small compartments. If the conversion is already complete and you haven't planned a drawer for odds and ends, you can later integrate a car seat organizer for the back of the seats. We particularly like the models from VANTALE.

For the creative minds among you, there is, of course, a DIY version too!

In the YouTube video by DIY MODE, you can watch a step-by-step guide for a self-sewn hanging shelf.

2. No more cable chaos: A bag for all your cables

There's hardly anything more annoying than untangling cables. So that you never have to do that again and your phone and laptop charging cables don't constantly fly around the van, there are bags designed exactly for this purpose. With clever compartments, you can find the right place not only for your cables but also for power banks, memory cards, and headphones.

Depending on your needs, there are smaller models, such as the Tech Kit from Bellroy:

… or the slightly larger version, like the cable organizer from Bagsmart.

3. That (not only) tastes good: Spice container to take along

When cooking in the camper, logically, you need spices. "But where should they be stored now?" If they end up in the same compartment as flour, sugar, and cereal, you end up buying cinnamon every time because you completely overlook it in the chaos (by now it's 5 packages... :)). Therefore, it makes sense to designate a specific place to store the spices.

For example, Pro Bushcraft offers Travel Spice Sets. The spices in glass containers are stored in a convenient metal box and are thus ideal for taking along. Moreover, you can choose from different sizes.

Gift Idea: The cold season invites you to make yourself really comfortable in the camper with a warm soup, and how do they say it so nicely? - Love goes through the stomach! How about a DIY Spice Advent Calendar for your loved ones? All you need for this are small containers and, of course, spices and spice blends of your choice. You can also add recipe ideas for special days, et voilà - you have the perfect gift!

4. Well-equipped: Cutlery Organizer

You have a minivan and limited space? Currently, your forks, spoons, and knives are in your lunchbox, and you spend 10 minutes digging until you find the bottle opener? Then this could help you:

The Front Runner Cutlery Set. From the spoon to the paring knife to the spatula: the set includes everything you need for cooking. For all utensils, there are small compartments that ensure everything has its place, and you can hang it on the van to have everything ready outside when the grill is brought out.

5. The Right Pot for Every Lid: Stackable Pots and Pans

To save space and maintain order, there are pots and pans specifically designed for camping that can be stacked inside each other. This way, you'll never have to search for the right lid again and won't have to compromise on the size of pots or pans. Campo Libre, for example, offers a super compact 6-piece stainless steel cookware set.

If you value high-quality pans, you should take a look at those from Petromax.

As a more affordable alternative, we can recommend the stackable aluminum pot set from Fritz Berger.

6. No more sock monsters: Portable laundry bag

Even your dirty laundry deserves its own place, or else the sock monster will catch up with you again and separate individual pairs. Of course, you can use any bag or sack for this purpose, but we have an even more practical alternative for you: a portable laundry bag. Disguised as a backpack, you can take your laundry to the laundromat much more comfortably, and your guests in the camper would never guess that you're hiding your dirty clothes there. Win-win!
