We love being on the road ourselves with our T5 with roof tent. We know how difficult it can be to find good, remote pitches in the countryside. That's why we have decided to offer a pitch on our farm directly on the Mittelland Canal in the countryside.

What an idyllic, peaceful little spot. Very friendly, helpful hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. We couldn’t have found a better place for a relaxing weekend! The sulfur bath nearby was a real discovery—it alone made the trip worthwhile. Listening to the boats chugging by, the babbling brook, and watching the chickens—we really enjoyed it. Thank you so much!
It was just about perfect! Simply wonderful—quiet, right by the stream, and all to ourselves even though there were other campsites. Exactly what you’d hope for :) Olaf showed us around and was always available. Right around the corner is the canal (very quiet!) where you can swim. There are walking trails for the dog everywhere. 10/10—we’ll definitely be back!! :)

Great location—great hosts! We (two friends from Aachen and Cologne, respectively) had the pleasure of staying with Steffi and Olaf in their circus trailer for two nights. We felt right at home from the very first minute and enjoyed our time there to the fullest. Communicating with the hosts was wonderfully easy and very friendly. The circus wagon is a real gem—beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. The bed is so comfortable that we stayed in bed much longer than we’d originally planned. After spending two nights in Tecklenburg, I very spontaneously discovered and “chose” Olaf and Stefanie’s farm for my last night. Olaf responded to my request extremely quickly and welcomed me very warmly just a few hours later. Since I was thinking about ending my trip with a sound massage, I met Stefanie shortly afterward, and we had the chance to “get to know each other a bit.” I wanted for nothing while I was there… an open atmosphere, water, electricity, and tarp accessories if needed, Wi-Fi—even the deer in the garden mentioned in the listing (less than 10 meters away from me) came to visit. 😊 A small farm shop is well-stocked with a variety of items. The spot for Waldemar, my Dacia Jogger, is located to the left of the farm, right next to a small stream (pack some mosquito repellent!) that flows into the Mittelland Canal, on a fairly level grassy area. There’s plenty of space here to spread out comfortably. The canal I mentioned is just around the corner and can be reached very quickly on foot or by bike. Here, I was able to explore long, wonderful routes with Waldtraut, my electric folding bike. Other paths, right next to the property, lead through the woods, past fields and quarries, or by an old lime kiln; here, too, I was able to take Waldtraut out on long rides, even in the evenings. The sound massage with Stefanie—which I booked as an additional (and very spontaneous) treat to round out the trip—was absolutely fantastic. Here, time was taken for me, and I was given time to myself. After the recent passing of both my parents, I found a space here where I could truly clear my head. Would I recommend this Hinterland Camp? Absolutely! Thank you so much for a relaxing and hassle-free—albeit very short—stay with you. ❤

Steffi and Olaf are absolutely wonderful, friendly hosts, and the campsite under the birch trees by the little stream is cozy and shaded (we were there when it was 32 degrees, and it was still very pleasant). Steffi’s singing bowl massage comes highly recommended—the relaxation throughout my whole body was perfect 🥰. The cherries in front of the house were ripe, and we were welcome to pick as many as we wanted—thank you so much again for that 🍒🙏🏻. The close proximity to the Mittelland Canal, with opportunities for walking and swimming, was great for our dogs and for us 👍. We’d love to come back.
We were greeted very warmly and felt right at home. A great starting point for hikes or bike rides. Shopping options are right nearby. The canal is just around the corner, and you can see the boats from the campsite. Delicious local honey! We were completely satisfied :-) Thank you for the wonderful stay and the smooth communication!
It was quiet, relaxing, and idyllic. The construction trailer has everything you need. Olaf is a wonderful, easygoing host.
Unfortunately, we couldn't make it, but they were absolutely easy to deal with and very nice :).
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Olaf's and felt right at home :) Swimming in the canal, the chickens, and the beautiful garden are simply unbeatable. The breakfast basket was also fantastic. We'll definitely be back! 😊
Such nice and laid-back hosts! We had a wonderful weekend here. It’s so peaceful and wonderfully relaxing. You can go fishing in the nearby canal, and there’s a small farm stand where you can buy honey or some really delicious eggs. Everything was great! Thank you so much!!!

The circus wagon is super cozy and beautifully situated. It’s surrounded by nature and very quiet. We had a wonderful getaway :) The amenities were great, too—everything was very clean, including the dry-separation toilet. You can also go for lovely walks starting right from the property.
A beautiful spot, spacious, located right by the canal and the many bike paths in the area. Perfect. It would be great if they added a graywater disposal option at some point—otherwise, it’s top-notch!!! We’ll be back.

The place is exactly as described, it's simply gorgeous and absolutely idyllic. I was actually able to watch a bambi every evening and hares hopped across the grounds. I will definitely be back again!
We had really nice days with Olaf! The pitch is spacious and nicely situated by a small stream! Every day the deer from the neighborhood visited us! The canal is in the immediate vicinity and can be reached quickly on foot with the SUPs! Anyone looking for peace and relaxation is in good hands here! We felt very comfortable 🥰
We had a quiet overnight stay by the babbling brook. The canal can be reached in a few minutes up the road and from the pitch you can see the big ships passing by. In the morning Olaf brought us a lovingly packed breakfast basket with fresh bread rolls, cheese and jam, honey and eggs from his own production - delicious!!! We felt very comfortable and welcome! Keep up the good work and see you soon! Then I'll book a yoga class too!
This overnight stay was a super spontaneous booking during a business trip, and I am really impressed with how uncomplicated everything went. The entire communication via WhatsApp was absolutely great and made the last-minute planning much easier. I was gently woken up in the morning by the chirping of birds and the soothing sound of water - a wonderful start to the day! Many thanks for that! I will definitely keep this destination in mind for future stays.
The accommodation was even more beautiful than described. It was wonderfully quiet. Olaf and his wife were more than accommodating. Homemade honey, eggs, jam and homemade tinctures and ointments were always available. It was clean and tidy. Furthermore, we were woken up every morning with a breakfast (which you can book). The canal was within 5 minutes walking distance. We will definitely be back and are already looking forward to our next stay with you. I should also mention that you support Nabu and I am absolutely thrilled about that. Best regards from the Schmitz family

Very nice reception, very nice pitches, very nice for walking and cycling. Top all round. During the week there may be some work noise from the nearby quarry, otherwise absolutely quiet. I felt very comfortable!

We received a friendly and personal welcome from Olaf. All the communication was great. One of the pitches is not completely flat, but we didn't mind. As we were only passing through, we arrived late and left early, so we weren't able to discover and experience everything. Nevertheless, a highly recommended site!

We stayed 2 nights with roof tent and dog with Olaf and Stefanie. Uncomplicated, friendly and helpful. We'd love to stay here again. The breakfast basket with honey from their own apiary and eggs from free-range chickens made our short vacation a special experience.
Unfortunately, we were unable to travel due to a medical emergency in the family. But we will definitely make up for it. The whole communication with Olaf was great. Very friendly and prompt responses to all messages. We look forward to making up for the weekend - hopefully soon.
I came along relatively spontaneously with my bike and tent. Everything went really well. The communication went smoothly. I made myself a small fire for a donation and was able to use the dry, separate toilet. Everything was clean and great. The location is also as described directly on the Mittelland Canal. I drove from there to Hörstel to the start of the Hermannsweg. All in all, I can only say that I would love to come back!
The site is beautifully situated next to an old half-timbered house. We had a lovely walk along the canal and along the signposted Teuto loops. The rolls for breakfast were excellent! Many thanks for the hospitality.

Unfortunately I was unable to travel. However, I had very friendly communication several times, by email and also by phone. I will definitely book this place again. If only to get to know Olaf personally.

We were more than satisfied! Very cozy, rustic property and two great, wonderfully located pitches in the middle of nature. There was a babbling brook next to our pitch and we were surrounded by peach trees. The two hosts are a very nice and open couple, who we immediately liked. We felt right at home! The proximity to the Mittelland Canal makes the site even more attractive, as anyone who wants to can also go into the water there, which was ideal for us as three dog owners. We would have liked to stay longer if the weather had cooperated. But we'll be back, that's for sure! 😄 Thank you Gerd and Petra

Beautiful pitch, very close to the Mittelland Canal, with very nice hosts. A toilet tent (dry separate toilet) was set up especially for us.
Olaf and his wife made us feel very comfortable. From the pitch we could see the passing ships on the Mittelland Canal. In the evening we got a fire bowl with wood from Olaf and made ourselves comfortable. During the day, we went cycling along the Mittelland Canal. Our dogs were always with us. The area is nice and quiet and idyllic and our hosts were very nice and friendly. We will definitely go back again.
The perfect place for retreat and relaxation! I spent a wonderful 4 days there and felt very comfortable. The caravan, surrounded by nature, offers everything you need and is incredibly cozy, and Olaf is always there for questions or requests. Thank you for the wonderful time!

Very nice place between fields and the canal, super uncomplicated hosts, fresh organic eggs and the view through the trees of passing ships...great! Electricity was available for little money. If I'd had more cash with me, I would have bought the honey too...😉
We stayed with Olaf over Whitsun with our caravan and motorized dinghy. His very nice farm is very quiet and remote, but easily accessible. The 2 pitches are far enough apart so that you are on your own. Infrastructure is very, very good!!! Ideal for water enthusiasts. The Mittelland Canal in the immediate vicinity and also the Dortmund Ems Canal as well as the Ems invite you to swim or relax in a few minutes by car. The contact was very good as well as the pitch itself and also on site Olaf takes care of his guests! We can only recommend the farm's own eggs and honey. Perfect! Full recommendation!!! We would love to come back!
Super nice hosts! We were there with 2 roof tents, perfect pitch and enough space directly on the Mittelland Canal. Great area for bike tours and hikes directly from the pitch. A great place in the immediate vicinity of the canal. Not only boat lovers but also nature lovers will get their money's worth here. Wildlife in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle! In addition, delicious eggs and honey from the farm at fair prices! Thank you very much!
Nice quiet pitch on the canal. You can see the ships partly and the chugging of the engines lulls you to sleep. By the way, thanks for the bread. Come back with pleasure.
Visit in September for a few days, very uncomplicated communication in advance, stay was very pleasant, area great for exploring by bike, especially great we felt the "muffled chugging along" of the large barges....has what very calming!!! thanks again to Olaf and a clear recommendation for a visit Andreas & Corinna

We were quite spontaneously for one night with Olaf and were very pleased that he has accepted our request at such short notice. The communication with Olaf went super and also our short acquaintance was very nice! We stood with our Sprinter on a green area in front of Olaf's house next to a horse pasture and the adjacent very quiet little street (I did not notice a single car). The Mittellandkanal is in the immediate vicinity, but not visible from the site (so it was not indicated, so we knew that before). For our stopover we found the place at Olaf good :)
Olaf is a fantastic host, he gave us great tips and was always very nice and friendly. The spot was totally beautiful , great location . We were thrilled, thank you very much 😊

At Olaf and Stefanie we were warmly welcomed, although we were a little late - they showed us directly the place and the watering hole and connected us to the electricity. There were fresh cherries and tips for swimming in the nearby canal - after a very quiet night in our camper under the big oak tree on the meadow right next to the farm, we made our simple breakfast a feast with fresh eggs from the Swedish flower chickens and honey from the bees from the orchard with the circus wagon very regional. Gladly again!

06/23. Here we spent our first time (camping). 2 nights and ☀️ days in a beautiful and large garden, with young fruit trees and an old oak tree that gave a lot of shade. As newcomers to camping, we felt at home here. The two hosts are friendly, calm and helpful. Our dog loved watching the chickens, my wife liked the walks along the water. I have become a fan of the dry separation toilet, looked new and smelled new too, I enjoyed visiting it 🤣. Conclusion : Clean, quiet and natural. Cell phone reception very good (optional mobile router for wifi) . Thank you for the honey and fresh eggs. Gladly again. LG Felix & Frauke 👍🏼

Was super good for camping, a construction trailer and a few small trees provided shade and the meadow was nice and soft. The new dry separation toilet was also pleasant to use. Firewood and fire bowl were available and could be used. Very nice people, happy to come again!

The hosts are very nice and the place and the surroundings are very beautiful. We have made great hikes. The only drawback: Unfortunately, we did not have a clear view of the Mittellandkanal. That was a bit of a shame, but it was within a few minutes from our place.

An idyllic, wonderfully quiet place with a starry sky and a beautiful view of the ships from the Mittelland Canal. There you can also walk well. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. There we come gladly also times again. We were there with our team. A tip for the approach for caravan drivers: Via the Töddenweg (western crossing) it is easier and clearer to the place.
We spent two days with Olaf on the meadow next to his beautiful house. The location is great, super quiet in the green and behind it directly the Mittellandkanal, great for walking. We could relax wonderfully and enjoy the nature.
