We are organic winemakers in Franconia’s oldest wine town—Hammelburg. Our Schloss Saaleck winery dates back to 1298! The winery building is right next to Saaleck Castle, and our vineyards are just 250 meters behind it. You can park your RV or trailer at the wine cellar. At the wine cellar, we have a 24/7 wine and snack hut (access via the free lokbesApp). There is a fire pit on the terrace, and wood is provided for it. Our wine shop (wine sales and tasting) is located in town (Town Hall) on the market square. This is also where you typically check in.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend at this campsite. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't perfect, but the excellent wine more than made up for it. Communication and the description were great, both before our arrival and once we were there. We'd love to come back!
You couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay. Would recommend it to anyone. Very relaxed arrival and coordination with Ulrike. Thank you so much for everything. We'll be back.
Very nice telephone contact with the hostess. Above all, a very nice and quiet place at the winery and the castle. We can also recommend the wine tasted in the self-service store.

We spent three lovely nights at the winery. The pitches are as described, in an extremely quiet location, about 20 minutes' walk to the nearest refreshment stop Radl Rast. There are toilets and a vending machine container on the pitch. The hosts are very friendly.
The pitch is in a very nice location. On site you can make beautiful wine trail hike. (Approx. 1.5-2h) And then try the family's wine directly 😊 We were there for the second time after 4 years, and will certainly come back again. Thank you 😊
We didn't get to meet the hosts in person due to a public holiday, but everything went really well. Nice and quiet pitch, currently being extended. We recommend a walk to the vineyards and the castle and shopping in the Wein- und Brotzeithäusle.
For me one of the most beautiful pitches I know. I spent one night on one of the self-sufficient camping pitches. Fantastic peace and quiet, wonderful views over the vineyards. Super friendly hosts. I would love to come again. :-)

If you are self-sufficient, we absolutely recommend standing in the vineyards. You are alone in the green. Enjoy the red sky in the evening with the wine from the 24/7 cottage, wonderful.

The spot is an absolute heartfelt recommendation! Ulrike and her family are incredibly friendly and welcoming and we felt incredibly comfortable. Everything went very smoothly, even though we had made a very spontaneous request. We really enjoyed exploring the surrounding area with delicious wine from the 24/7 wine store. Ulrike even offered us various options for the pitch, one more beautiful than the other. We would love to come back!

The welcome in the vinotheque was very warm. The self-sufficient pitch in the vineyard is idyllically situated and a dream for anyone who wants to be alone in nature. Any time again.
A wonderful location at the winery and Saaleck Castle. You can stand at the winery or self-sufficiently in the vineyard. A highlight is the 24|7 Brotzeithäusle with its own organic wine and various regional specialties from the region. Ulrike and Thomas are very welcoming hosts who take the well-being of their guests very seriously. All in all, we award 5***** for this dreamlike and very quiet place close to nature. We would love to come back 😌

Very nice communication with the host Ulrike, an uncomplicated stay and a beautiful pitch in the middle of the Lange family's vineyard. If you are self-sufficient and looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The educational wine trail is a nice way to explore the area. As we were there on a public holiday, we were unfortunately unable to visit the wine shop. We'll do that next time...
Unfortunately, the parking spots upstairs weren't ready, so we had to park in the scrap yard below the buildings. The host seemed a bit surprised to see us, or maybe he was just in a bad mood that day...

Unfortunately, we had to move to another pitch due to construction work on the pitch that was actually on offer. We didn't like it there at all. Behind the castle wall, dark at the edge of the forest and looked more like a storage/scrap yard. What a pity. Under normal conditions it could have been quite nice, so the rating is only average.

The place at the winery was quiet and well on the mountain. Thus, of course, you had to go up the mountain. Electricity and toilet were available. The wine from the winery was of course also good. Everything was in order.

Since we arrived later, we could clarify everything by phone! Everything worked out great & the guests who were already on site have helped and super! The sanitary facilities were also clean! We were passing through and for one night there. Gladly again 👍🏼
When arriving at the vinothek, to register, we recommend to use the (unfortunately) kostenplichtigen parking lot, just after the traffic circle on the right, before the beginning of the old town center. Since at the vinothek are no parking spaces for camper. The registration is short and very cordial. The road to the actual pitch is winding but the small and fine pitch compensates for the narrow serpentines. For example, with a view of the castle Saaleck. There are several seating areas at the site. The sanitary area is neat and clean. The surrounding area invites to explore with a wine trail and wooded surroundings. At the wine trail is then also a vineyard as you imagine him as a city dweller. We felt very welcome and comfortable and the wine was delicious.
We had a great single place in the middle of the vineyards. The contact with Ulrike was very friendly and reliable. On foot we explored the wine trail, we liked it. Unfortunately, the refrigerator with the wines was plundered, so we could hardly try anything. Great way to take a break on the trip. Always happy to visit again.
Great location and starting point for walks and bike rides, right next to a beautiful castle and a wine trail. The owners are very nice. We were allowed to look at the wine barrels and were told how the wine is harvested and made.

Come again in any case. For us, the pitch was just right. Central starting point and yet quiet and romantic location. With mowed lawn it would have been even more comfortable.
Beautiful winery with everything you need. Was our first trip so we have no comparison. On the days where we were there was a lot going on (wine festival, wedding in the castle and children's camp) but is certainly not the standard.
After a bit of chaos with the site allocation, we had a nice, albeit partly rainy weekend. But for this the family Lange can nothing. Otherwise, the place is very nice, power cable should be rather long, water can be tapped in the bathroom. A sink would still be great, in the hand sink rinsing is rather so mediocre. The wine is super delicious and the vinothek in the place very nicely done.

Smooth communication during booking, beautiful pitch and very nice hosts. Ulrike gave us a great tip where we could experience the sunset directly between the vines. And the glass of wine to go with it was super tasty!!! The town of Hammelburg is about 15 - 20 minutes walk away. We will be happy to come back again :)
We were guests last weekend at the pitch not far from the impressive Saaleck Castle. The booking and contact were super uncomplicated and we knew everything important before arrival. At the pitch we were all alone and could enjoy the evening with a delicious bottle of wine. We will definitely come again. We have to come eh again buy wine 😊 And the surrounding area around the winery and Hammelburg wants to be explored further.
We had a quiet secluded single pitch on the edge of the vineyard. Great location if you can stand self-sufficient! The hosts were super helpful and quick to find a place for us despite strong booking situation! Thank you!!!

Already for the fourth time we have made a stopover at Ulrike. The communication was again very smooth and even a short-term rebooking worked wonderfully. The place is wonderfully located - in the middle of the vineyard and the valley to stop is within walking distance. At the same time, the highway is easily and quickly accessible, so this beautiful place is just perfect for us personally for the passage. THANK YOU! :-)

A few switchbacks and beautiful views of old walls lead up to the parking lot. From the front window you can see the castle, from the tailgate a large wine barrel. The wines that are ready in the wine refrigerator, you should definitely taste ;) We even got to go on an evening excursion with the hostess to the dark vineyards including a beautiful starry sky. Thank you for the great experience!

We liked the nice reception in the vinotheque, the sanitary facilities and the view in the vineyards. Less well we liked the high volume of the nearby youth camp until late in the evening. The federal highway in the valley was also audible.
Nice contact with Ulrike and her husband. The first night we stood on the pitch next to the castle Saaleck (do not forget the drive-up wedges). For the second night Ulrike offered us her pitch in the vineyard, where we then stood all alone. Great! At dusk we saw three deer and admired a very beautiful sunset. Not to forget the delicious wine. Thank you very much !

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff in the wine shop, interesting and quality wines. There is a toilet at the site. The 3 pitches are rather sufficient for panel vans, not for alcove vehicles or longer than 7m. All in all super place close to the city (2km up stairs) and very quiet.
Uncomplicated arrival, despite bad delay due to a traffic jam. Great site, wonderfully quiet and with picturesque castle scenery. Highlight were due fireflies in the evening. The child was happy and so were we. Great! 👍
We spontaneously got a pitch for the next day. Ulrike has contacted me directly by phone. First Hinterland experience for us, absolutely thrilled. Great located pitch, wine to enjoy on site, beautiful area! (Super located if you have to drive the A7 even further and need a stop halfway).

3 days we were allowed to stand with Ulrike on the winery. We were lucky and could participate in the wine walk and the wine festival. The place is quiet and beautifully situated. The sanitary facilities are clean. The wine tastes very good and we took some with us. We were greeted friendly and will be happy to come back and recommend the visit!!! Greeting Andreas

Super welcome and completely uncomplicated. A very nice pitch, quiet location, way to the castle you come up with the caravan you should only have driven more often with the caravan. We like to come back only then in somewhat warmer months and not the end of November 😊
From the first contact to the departure I found the communication with Ulrike very pleasant. Everything has fit wonderfully. The location is great. The toilets were clean. I can recommend the place without reservation. P.S. The wine is delicious, Müller Thurgau was our choice

Very nice hosts with good own wine. A wonderfully quiet pitch, located in mother nature. Up at the castle very quiet without disturbing noise of road traffic and the night is here really still dark.... Must be enjoyed. Tip for those interested: wedges for leveling the vehicle should have with you, because the footprint is not quite level. For "habitual slants" but no problem 😎. We were here in the fall of 2021. The place is very nice and absolutely quiet. The castle next door is a real highlight and you should definitely take the time and walk along the wine trail, which starts right next to the site. ulrike has welcomed us very warmly and we were able to "conquer" our pitch very uncomplicated. We would have liked to do a wine tasting with Ulrike in the village, but unfortunately we had to leave early. But we will come back in any case and catch up! Gudrun and Bernd

The site at Ulrike offers a wonderful place for a quiet camping. We camped for two nights on the fruit meadow. There is a beautiful wine trail that starts right there and a tower of Saalek Castle from which you have a great distant view. We tasted a few wines at the Vonthek. Ulrike was very friendly and accommodating and gave us many tips. Thank you for the nice stay!

Super nice hosts, and a super place to camp with a gorgeous view. The toilets were very clean... Cold and hot water available. We were very satisfied and would have liked to stay longer. But we will be back with more time. :) Tip to people with the tent A hammer to pitch the tent is useful on this site, as the ground is quite firm.

It was super nice! :) I could pitch my tent on a small meadow right next to the winery. Through a small forest you get after a few minutes in the vineyards, can sit there super on the wall and look into the valley. (And enjoy the very tasty wine , which is offered for sale in a small refrigerator on the winery). Toilets were very clean, the registration was totally uncomplicated! All in all a wonderful experience, I will be happy to come back!

We have made the right choice: A very warm and friendly welcome and the wine bar is highly recommended. The location of the pitches is beautiful, ramps should be in the luggage. With a view of the castle Saaleck a great location. We also really liked the route of the wine trail and the little walk to Hammelburg turns out to be a dreamlike setting. The organic winery Lange is highly recommended, we will certainly come back to this stop if it takes us to this corner again.

Very nice hosts who provide a wonderful spot! There are great hiking opportunities right outside the campers door and a bench and table invite you to linger. Very clean sanitary facilities round out the positive impression. Also our dog was received nicely. We are very happy to come back!
We were received very kindly in the vinotheque. The overnight place is directly at the winery. Since there were heavy rains the days before, we were able to spend the night directly at the winery on a gravel parking lot. The night was very quiet. In the morning still briefly looked at the castle and enjoyed the view from the tower. Thank you very much, we will be happy to come again !
Passion paired with competence: That is Ulrike Lange! We were warmly welcomed and together with Ulrike we tasted her best wines as part of the "wine tasting with vesper platter by candlelight". The site was beautifully located and the sanitary facilities were very clean. In the Vinothek in the village you can stock up on the exceptionally good wines. We thank the host Ulrike and will definitely come again!

Great location, toilet super, the wine fridge we have used well (10, -per bottle is fair). Unfortunately, due to the weather we could only use the gravel parking. At the neighboring castle restaurant you should reserve in time. Hosts very friendly.
We liked the place very much. The location was great. We could make beautiful bike and hiking tours from there. The hosts were very friendly and from the delicious wine we have treated ourselves to a few bottles for home, gladly we come again.
The contact was already very friendly on the phone, on site we had contact with the two sons, who showed us the toilet, the wine fridge and the garbage cans. There is room for 3 vehicles on a sloping grass strip, we were allowed to stand on a level gravelled area in front of the warehouse.

The location right next to the castle is brilliant and, apart from the birds, very quiet. The few serpentines in the driveway are also good to create with the camper. The existing toilet and the "trial refrigerator" were also gladly accepted. We can only recommend the place!
I had a very nice stay for 2 nights. Ulrike and Thomas are very nice and helpful hosts, the pitch was really quite - only birdsong, the chirping of crickets and a cuckoo 😄 - and there is very good wine 😊 Every now and then there is a wine festival in the vineyard, then there are a lot of people out and about, but at night it is still very quiet. The landscape is very beautiful - vineyards, forests, meadows and heath and wonderful views. For the sake of completeness, I would like to mention that with caravans you are not on the small grassy site with a view of the castle (for motorhomes), but on a gravel site behind the winepress, at least it was so for me. For caravans with large caravans, the approach to the mountain could be somewhat difficult, because relatively steep, winding and narrow. The recreational value it has not diminished 😊 Thanks for the nice stay, I will definitely be back!

The place is easily accessible and clean. Chocks are an advantage. WC is clean and everything is available. Super we found the small refrigerator, filled with wine. From the place you can start great hikes. Also the vinothek in town is absolutely worth a visit. We like to come back and recommend you in any case.
A beautiful place to relax right next to the castle with gorgeous sunset from an ambitious winemaking couple with passion and wonderful tasting wine. A must see. Highly recommended and we will be happy to come back. Michaela, Rainer & Sam

It was a very nice weekend. We were received very friendly at the registration in the wine shop. The site is very beautifully located at Saaleck Castle. From the Lange family we learned many interesting things about the winery and viticulture. We will be happy to come again.

Quiet pitch near the castle next to vines. Clean toilets, including sink. There are even chilled wines available in the toilet room. The tower of the castle can be climbed - a great view! We will be happy to come again! 😊

A really nice place, drive-up wedges would probably be helpful to stand straight. You are immediately on the wine trail, which is also well attended. Would come again!
We spent two great days at Saaleck Castle. Beautiful place directly in the vineyards. Landlords are very friendly. On the day of arrival there was a wine walk from the winery Lange, simply successful. We will be back :-)

A real jewel!!! Recreation, nature, culture and delicious wine. One stands very quietly directly in the vineyard in the back of the castle Saaleck. From the high keep you have a panoramic view over the historic vineyards, where you can hike wonderfully. The hosts are incredibly nice!!! Toilets and electricity top and there is even wine directly at the place to buy. We were happily surprised how beautiful it is around Hammelburg and hereby give an absolute recommendation. At the beginning we went to the vinotheque in the center of the village. Here we were received very friendly. A short chat and off we went. High up on the mountain. At the top it was immediately clear that it is just wonderful. We met Ulrike, her husband and the oldest son. All just really nice. There is excellent wine and the possibility to do several great hikes. This is a real recommendation. 👌🏼
