On the outskirts of a small village, we offer a campsite for RVs/travel trailers up to 8.00 m and for tents.

Barel is part of the beautiful municipality of Dötlingen and is located in the Wildeshauser-Geest Nature Park, nestled among forests, bogs, and heathlands. Dötlingen itself has already made a name for itself as an artists’ village.

It’s an ideal starting point for many excursions in all directions. The surrounding cities, such as Oldenburg, Bremen, and Wildeshausen, are within easy reach, and the North Sea coast is just under an hour’s drive away.

Well-developed bike paths make it easy to explore the surrounding communities.

Please note the directions to our location shown in the photos. GPS systems sometimes direct you down a dirt road!

  • This was our first time using the Hinterland app—and we were immediately blown away. The place completely won us over: beautiful nature, absolute peace and quiet, and a host who really knows his stuff and takes great care of his guests. You have everything you need here—and actually even more. The area is great, the people are friendly, and there’s so much to discover. The only thing we had to “complain” about: We didn’t have nearly enough time. We would have loved to stay longer, but our trip had to continue. Bottom line: We’d come back anytime! A place to unwind, enjoy yourself, and feel at ease.

  • A solid 5-star review 😀. Margret and Jürgen are incredibly warm, open, and helpful. We were welcomed with kindness and made to feel very comfortable. The campsite is beautifully located, and you can enjoy the peace and quiet here at any time of day 🤗. Thank you for letting us stay with you. It’s wonderful that you share such a great, peaceful spot with us campers 😊. Best regards, Günter and Anja 🖐️

  • The parking spot in the garden was once again very nice and quiet, with the horse pasture right next door. The bathroom is really nicely designed and clean. We’ll definitely be back if we find ourselves heading north.

  • A very beautiful place, designed with great attention to detail. Jürgen and Margret are wonderful hosts and deserve high praise. Thank you so much for everything. Monique and Jean
