Nature Camp with Hot Tub, Sauna & River Views

Our Nature Camp is a small, simple campsite set in a beautiful, scenic location by a small stream, offering views of the mountains while remaining conveniently close to the road. It is now possible to reach the camp by bus.

The campsite features an outdoor kitchen equipped with cooking facilities and utensils, an outdoor lounge area, and a fire pit. You can also rent a hot tub and a small wood-fired sauna. There is space for tents, and you can also rent camping hammocks, tree tents, or small cabins on wheels if you prefer to sleep within four walls. Everything can be booked via Airbnb once it is ready.

TRANSPORT:

You can reach us by bus from Evje or from Åseral Kyrkjebygda. The bus must be booked at least 2 hours in advance through AKT.

The camp does not have mains electricity, but the kitchen is equipped with a solar power system, allowing you to charge mobile phones via a USB cable. Please bring your own USB cable. Free drinking water is available in the kitchen, and water for other uses can be collected from the stream. All toilets on-site are composting (biological) toilets.

The tent area is located on the other side of the stream, right near the outdoor kitchen, lounge area, and composting toilet.

It is not possible to drive a car all the way to the tent area, but we are happy to help with transport if you have a lot of gear to carry.

It is about a 2-minute walk across a small bridge—approximately 30 meters from the parking area.

Guests are welcome to use a rowboat located on a nearby lake free of charge (please bring your own life jackets). There are many excellent hiking trails and mountain trekking opportunities throughout the municipality of Åseral. At the campsite, there is a marked trail leading up the mountain.

You can also try rock climbing on Sletafjellet, located right near the campsite. We offer several small cabins for rent here at our nature campsite, as well as larger cabins in the surrounding area. It is perfectly possible to rent one of the cabins and simply visit to rent a hot tub at the campsite.

- You can borrow a rowboat free of charge on a nearby lake, approximately 6.5 km from the campsite (2 hours per guest). Please bring your own life jacket.

We are situated at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level, so nights can be cold, even in the summer. From September 1st, tent pitches are available only to guests experienced in sleeping in cold conditions or using winter-rated tents.

It is also possible to rent a pitch during the winter season.

Please note: During the winter period (approximately September 15th – May 15th), the outdoor kitchen and outdoor lounge area are closed. During this time, you may set up a campfire near your tent.

The sauna and hot tub are relocated to our nearby farm during this period and remain available for use there.

The campsite does not have showers, but you can rent a hot tub and sauna for an additional fee.

You can rent a hot tub and a barrel sauna for an extra charge—a lovely spa experience! Why not combine it with a quick dip in the river?

Hot tub rates (3 hours):

July, August: NOK 550

May, June, September, October: NOK 650

November 1 – April 31: NOK 750

Includes 3 hours in the hot tub (or as otherwise agreed).

The tub is filled with fresh water each time and heated using firewood. It takes 1–2 hours to heat up. Please book the hot tub at least one day in advance.

Weather conditions: The temperature must be warmer than -7°C.

Barrel sauna rates (2 hours):

June, July, August: NOK 250

May, September, October: NOK 300

December 1 – April 30: NOK 350

The sauna is heated with firewood. The stove also heats water, allowing you to wash yourself inside the sauna.

It takes about 40 minutes to heat up, and it is available for use year-round.

NOTE: From approximately May 1 to November 15, the hot tub and sauna are moved to our "nature camp" (located about 500 meters from the farm) and must be used there.

Do you have a rooftop tent or a campervan? Please check with us regarding availability; you can book a spot for your vehicle instead of a standard tent pitch. -You can find a spot on the other side of the river, where the ground is a bit firmer; however, vehicles cannot be driven onto the actual tent site.
