Hi there,
We have two beautiful campsites available at the edge of the forest or right in the woods in the Saalfelder Höhe, next to our forest cabin, which we rarely use.
The spot is at the edge of the forest with a view of the meadow, the village, and the Thuringian Valley.
The spot itself is 5 meters long, and I was advised to mention that it’s difficult to maneuver in and out. If you drive a few meters further down the path, there’s a large enough turning area at the hiking shelter.
If you decide to use the upper spot behind the cabin, right in the middle of the forest, it makes sense to back in through the woods. (There’s a small cable car for kids hanging there—please watch out when backing in😉—so you don’t damage anything).
Both spots are located on the outskirts of Burkersdorf.
However, I only offer one for booking, so you can truly have your peace and quiet.
By the way, the sunsets are absolutely stunning :-)
You have the option to dispose of your camping toilet—see photos.
In the village itself, there is a small spring with water that tastes excellent.

We took the upper campsite and had a lovely, quiet weekend in the woods. It was exactly as we’d imagined. The path marked on the picture has a few nasty bumps right after the road; when we were leaving, I used the alternate exit next to it, which was better. The sunset is truly breathtaking. And there are plenty of hiking and walking trails in the woods.
A really great campsite right in the middle of the forest; we used the upper one because the lower one wasn't long enough for the Ranger—it was only 5 meters. The sunset is absolutely amazing, just as described!
What a beautiful place. 🌲 We stayed at site 2, right in the forest. The location is a dream and the perfect starting point for long hikes through the Thuringian Forest. Two magically beautiful sunsets rounded out our stay. 🌅 The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and relaxed. Just the right place to escape the daily grind and enjoy nature. Communicating with the host via message was very warm and straightforward. Thank you so much for sharing this special place with others. We felt completely at home and would love to come back. 😊
