Pros: The restrooms are clean, the grounds are quiet and unspoiled, and you’re just a 10-minute walk from the beautiful Baltic Sea coast. Cons: At €50 per night, the campsite is overpriced given the issues listed below. We had a relaxing vacation on the farm, but unfortunately there were a few things that bothered us. We didn’t meet the host, Eva, in person, but we did interact directly with the on-site staff, some of whom weren’t particularly friendly, which made us feel more tolerated than welcome. Upon our arrival around 8 p.m., there was no orientation: We weren’t shown the restroom facilities or told how to use the other amenities. There was also some friction regarding the campsite: We had parked a little off to the side and were then asked the next morning to move (“Get out of our berry garden—you’re running over the plants”), which simply wasn’t the case. The reason (mowing the lawn) was understandable, but it could have been communicated more politely. In addition, we were put off by the informational materials available on-site. We found the basic concept of the Wildkräuterhof very appealing, but alongside it we also found esoteric nonsense without any scientific basis (see photos). This isn’t just “alternative wellness”—it’s actually debunked nonsense that’s being commercially marketed with, at times, brazen health and healing claims, e.g., through laminated “Zapper” cards costing up to 44 euros… I suppose that’s up to each person to decide for themselves. We really loved the campsite because of its location, but otherwise found it overpriced and would have liked to see more warmth and humanity.
You're on your own here at the herb garden, but since they also rent out bungalows, the farm is quite lively during the season. The restrooms and showers are plentiful and very clean. We felt right at home.
Very quiet; clean restrooms. Nice little café on the grounds
The campground was really great, and the showers and restrooms were clean. But unfortunately, we didn’t get to meet Eva. Everyone seemed tense or stressed, and we felt like we were intruding. Someone then showed us where we could park without saying another word. It’s really too bad, because I’m very interested in herbs and had been looking forward to sharing experiences.
What a beautiful place with friendly people and a great café surrounded by greenery! We really liked it and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We’d go back anytime!
