Come visit us for a getaway in our construction trailer in this wonderful area between Lüneburg, the Elbe River, and the Wendland! The property is located right next to the Wendland Elbe Nature Park, and the Lower Saxony Elbe Floodplain Biosphere Reserve is just around the corner.

Right now, we have plenty of “roommates”—wasps have made a nest under the shingles of the igloo and are buzzing back and forth.

The cozy, 18-square-meter Iglucraft stands elevated on a chassis in a clearing right at the edge of the forest; you’ll have the place all to yourselves here, but still within calling distance of the main house! You’ll look out onto a meadow that’s gradually turning into a biotope.

Unfortunately, dogs aren’t allowed due to the farm dog.

Lounge in bed with a view through the round window, go biking or canoeing, hike in the forest right next door, take stargazing walks along the Elbe floodplain on the dike or through the heath, swim in the small sandy coves along the Elbe, watch beekeeping, or go mushroom hunting. There’s plenty of culture—the Wendland is just around the corner, and the villages in the immediate vicinity are also coming into their own, with cafés, a winery, an art association, a cultural center hosting concerts, a few nice restaurants, organic farms, and farm stands.

Many forest and meadow animals and plants are your neighbors; the property is fully accessible via mowed paths. We’re looking for nature-loving people with an interest in the little things and happenings—there’s so much to discover!

That’s not the only reason the Iglu is ideal for people who aren’t afraid of tall grass and buzzing insects. The construction trailer is equipped with tight fly screens. Two people who are close to each other can comfortably fit in the 1.60-wide bunk bed.

It’s a 25-minute drive to Lüneburg and an hour to Hamburg when traffic is light. If you’re arriving by train, it’s best to get around locally by bike and bus.

The Iglu has its own mini-bathroom with hot water, a shower, and a composting toilet.

The small kitchenette features a refrigerator, two stovetops, and everything else you need for cooking. A small semi-automatic espresso machine with a portafilter ensures a decent espresso. There’s electricity and high-speed fiber-optic internet.

Depending on the season and weather, you can have breakfast indoors or outdoors, and in the evening, enjoy the sunset at the edge of the property; at night, the stars twinkle in true total darkness—here, only the moon, following its usual cycle, illuminates the area.

The forest rustles loudly in the wind, and the nearby wind turbines can usually be heard as well! There’s farming here—sowing, harvesting, and tractors in the spring and fall. But time and again, there’s also: nothing.

Smoking is permitted on the terrace. Smoking is prohibited inside the igloo itself and on the property.

The igloo stands on the grounds of an old Lower Saxon servants’ quarters, half of which has been renovated. At the front of the driveway, you’ll still come across remnants of the construction site near the main house that was completed last year—things like Big Bags, scaffolding parts, and IBC tanks. The rest of the property, 2.3 hectares, is green and untouched.

Every season has something to offer; a mobile barrel sauna on wheels can be booked as an add-on (please check availability in advance; see below for details).

We look forward to seeing you—be sure to come visit!

The two of us stayed with Stephanie in her tiny house for 11 nights (from June 22 to July 3, 2026). Stephanie is such a warm and easygoing host—she always seems to be available and makes everything possible. The Tiny House is set slightly elevated (on a trailer) and has a large patio with a table, chairs, and lounge chairs. We wanted pure nature, peace and quiet, and as few people as possible. And that’s exactly what we got! On the very first day, a doe walked past our terrace with her two fawns—not even 5 meters away. The meadow where the Tiny House stands is also a paradise for all kinds of other animals: pheasants, birds of prey, lizards, grasshoppers, beetles, and more. We fell head over heels in love with the tiny house from the very first moment: so cozy, homey, and stylishly and functionally furnished. It has everything you need: A very comfortable bed with plenty of pillows (if you like that—and I do :), a small but fully functional kitchen, a shower area, and a composting toilet. For hot days, Stephanie even installed an outdoor shower—we were so glad she did :) The panoramic window is simply stunning—and we already miss it! The surrounding area is perfect for exploring: for example, the Elbe River border and the “Tanja” ferry, the Rundling villages in the Wendland region, or the Wittfeitzen forest swimming area. A car is recommended for these trips. Everything is between a 20- and 30-minute drive away. But you can also go on great bike rides through the woods and meadows. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stephanie’s tiny house and will definitely be back!

We loved everything—the beautiful decorative touches, the comfortable bed, the cozy outdoor furniture, the pleasant scents 😍, and even the rugs are of very high quality. The only inconvenience was the composting toilet, but overall, that was an interesting and unusual experience as well. All in all, we were very satisfied with our stay in the igloo.

We spent two wonderful nights in the tiny house and really enjoyed it! If you’re looking for some peace and quiet for a few days, love nature, and need a little distance from the big city, then I highly recommend this place. The house itself is decorated with great care, and Stephanie is a very pleasant host.
