There are several natural pitches available: on the orchard meadow, next to paddocks or - for the more adventurous - in the small wood. Camping is possible.

There is an electricity connection close to the house and well water is accessible. The toilet and shower in the house can also be used. WLAN is available on request.

In the village approx. 3 km away (accessible via cycle path) fresh water can be obtained at a reasonable price and a camping toilet can be disposed of. There are also shops, restaurants and an outdoor pool.

In case of rain, a barn or the conservatory are available as retreats. Barbecues and campfires are possible by arrangement. A small kitchen for self-catering can also be used.

    Rescued animals live with us - horses, sheep, a mini-pig, dog and cat - and are happy to welcome friendly visitors (we are also happy to pet them). fresh herbs and lettuce grow in our raised beds - you are welcome to pick some by arrangement. During the fruit season, plums, apples, pears, mirabelle plums etc. invite you to snack - and if you like, you are welcome to take a supply with you.

    The toilet and shower in the house are largely barrier-free and were originally designed with disabled access in mind. There are no high steps. A standard wheelchair (as used by my father) fits well, please note: The terrain around the courtyard and meadow is not completely flat - depending on your mobility, assistance may be necessary.

    The property is generously fenced and personal belongings can be safely set up and left. When we are not on site, the farm is monitored by cameras if necessary.note on GDPR: There is no permanent recording and the cameras are only activated for temporary security when no one is present at the farm.

    If something is unclear or does not fit: please contact us directly - we will find a solution.Consideration for nature, animals and other guests is a matter of course.Fire & barbecue please only after consultation and only in the designated places.Please separate garbage and do not leave food leftovers outside - the fox comes faster than you think.Please feed or pet animals only in our presence.Please respect quiet times in the evening - the forest sleeps too.And in case of doubt: better ask once more - than guess wrong.

Around the accommodation

  • Farm shop

    Depending on the season, guests are welcome to help themselves to our fruit and vegetables. I also offer individually bookable relaxation services on site, such as hypnomassage (1-2 hours, outdoors or indoors), forest bathing, autogenic training or animal-assisted coaching. Dates and prices on request on site.

  • Waste disposal

    Residual waste must be disposed of independently for the time being. Yellow bags and paper waste garbage cans can also be used.

  • Playground

    For children (and curious adults):Our animals can be stroked and cuddled in my company. In the nearby forest, children can build booths or balance and climb on tree trunks at their own responsibility. Board games and toys are available and there is an outdoor swimming pool about 3 km away, and on request I can also take the children on a short discovery tour through the forest - nature to join in!

    Well-developed cycle paths connect Abbendorf with the surrounding villages, ideal for day trips. 🛍️ Shopping & diningDiesdorf: In nearby Diesdorf you will find bakeries, a store, a butcher, an ice cream parlor, a drinks market and a restaurant.

  • Hiking

    Our region offers a wide range of opportunities for hiking and exploring nature: Drömling Biosphere Reserve: Discover the "land of a thousand ditches" with its unique wet meadows, watercourses and rich flora and fauna. The nature trail and the "Hike in Silence", which is offered regularly, are particularly recommended. Altmark circular route: A long-distance cycle route that leads through the picturesque Altmark and is also suitable for hiking. The route combines historical sites and impressive landscapes. Beetzendorfer Bruchwald and Tangelnscher Bach: Natural areas with varied hiking trails and a diverse flora and fauna. Hünengrabwanderweg: A 7.5 km circular trail that leads through Diesdorf and past megalithic tombs, the monastery church and the historic market square.

    Here you can experience real country life - quiet, close to nature and with a lot of heart. Our rescued animals (horses, sheep, mini pig, dog & cat) are happy to have friendly company - you can pet, observe and sometimes even help out in our company, whether fresh herbs from the raised bed, fruit straight from the tree or a quiet moment in the forest: here you will find space to take a deep breath, discover and join in. An adventure for children, relaxation for adults - or a mixture of both.

    Sights in Abbendorf & the surrounding areaVillage church Abbendorf: A brick building from 1875 with a medieval choir and an impressive carved altar from the 15th century. Abbendorf war memorial: A listed obelisk with memorial plaques for the fallen of the First and Second World Wars. Diesdorf open-air museum: One of the oldest open-air folklore museums in Germany with over 20 historical buildings, including a windmill, a smithy and a half-timbered church. Diesdorf Monastery Church: A late Romanesque basilica from the 12th century with a fully preserved groined vault, part of the Romanesque Road. Large stone tombs near Diesdorf: Three Neolithic burial sites that provide evidence of early settlement in the region. Diesdorfer Süßmost- & Weinkelterei: A regional winery with a farm store selling juices, wines and brandies. Salzwedel Fairytale Park & Scent Garden: A lovingly designed leisure park with fairytale figures, scent gardens, a maze and playgrounds - ideal for families with children. (Distance, accessible by car!)

    The Diesdorf adventure pool is a family-friendly outdoor pool in an idyllic location, right next to the Diesdorf open-air museum. It offers: A swimmer's pool for sporting activitiesA current channel and slides for fun and actionA water mushroom for the little onesSpacious sunbathing lawns to relaxA snack bar for a snack in between The pool is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00. It may close earlier in bad weather. ----2 A little further on is the Waldbad in Dähre, a family-friendly outdoor pool in an idyllic location on the edge of the forest. It has a 50-metre swimming pool with diving platforms, a separate non-swimmers' pool and a paddling pool for children. The pool offers spacious sunbathing lawns and is located directly on the Altmark circuit, which also makes it attractive for cyclists. The Waldbad is usually open from May to September, with admission prices of around €4 for adults and €2 for children.

  • Watching wildlife

    There is a lot to discover around our farm - especially for nature lovers and early risers! With a little patience, you can observe deer, raccoons, martens, moles, slow worms, cranes, red kites, woodpeckers and many other animals. we are happy to provide binoculars - and if you wander carefully through the forest or linger in the meadow, you will be amazed at how alive nature is here.
