Strohgäublick at the Hohscheid

The Hohscheid is a very quiet meadow property situated on a hillside in a weekend home community. It is located directly off a farm access road, which is partially paved and graveled, making it easily accessible in all weather conditions.

This parking spot at the very top of the property has room for a trailer, an RV, or a car with a roof tent. The tent area, about 50 meters down the meadow, is also a great spot for camping (tent area size approx. 4m x 10m, grass). The property is largely visible from the road and neighboring properties.

To the north, the site borders the forest; to the south, there is a beautiful view of the Strohgäu and the distant Black Forest.

The parking spot for motorhomes and roof tent users is located directly next to the access path, behind our stilt house under a hornbeam tree.

Campers are welcome to set up their tents on the flat tent meadow halfway up the property.

On a lower terrace, there is a fire pit and a wooden bench. This is sufficiently far away from the vehicle parking area and the tent terrace, so there is no need to worry about damaging your tent with flying sparks.

Due to its hillside location, the property is not suitable for people with mobility impairments, although the parking area itself is almost level next to the access path.

The site offers no utilities such as water or electricity. Therefore, it is only suitable for self-sufficient travelers.

It’s a 15-minute walk to the Netto supermarket in Hochdorf, and a 25-minute walk to the local Celtic Museum, which is well worth a visit. Across from the museum is a bakery that offers a wide selection of breakfast items all week long—including on weekends.

The Hohscheid is our weekend retreat and needs to be maintained. Therefore, it’s quite possible that I or one of my children will stop by to mow the lawn or harvest fruit. These tasks rarely take more than 2 hours.

I now only offer instant booking on one other platform (Campspace) to avoid scheduling conflicts.

Check-in is available from 3:00 PM; check-out should be completed by 2:30 PM.
