Welcome to a very special place - surrounded by fields and forests, but still very well connected, we invite you to our unique lake house on the Niepkuhlen (Old Rhine arm).
The great facilities include a private jetty, a wood-fired hot tub (which can be used as a "cold tub" in summer), a projector for a home cinema atmosphere and a wood-burning stove for cozy evenings. Also popular: the gas/e-cooker with seven hobs.
The property covers approx. 1000 square meters and is, apart from the shore side, completely fenced and almost secluded.
The hot tub offers space for 4-6 adults and there are no extra costs for its use.
In addition to the bathroom and living/fireplace room, there are two bedrooms for six regular sleeping places: A smaller one with a double bed (180x200cm) and a larger one with a double bed (180x200cm) plus two single beds (90x200cm), which can be put together and used as a double bed if required. The latter has a partition wall/"Spanish wall". In the living room, the very comfortable sofa bed (1.10x200cm) can optionally be used for a seventh sleeping place.
A fall-out protection for one of the beds and a baby travel cot are also available and can be provided as an option.
All openable windows are fitted with fly screens and, with the exception of the panoramic windows in the living room, are all fitted with pleated blinds.
A washer-dryer and cordless vacuum cleaner are also available.
The barbecue can be used over the fireplace (it is best to bring charcoal for this).
You are located between Krefeld-Traar and the local recreation area Hülser Berg with numerous leisure activities.
The center of Traar is approx. 4 km away.
The accommodation is located in the countryside, but you are very well connected via a country road (50 km/h for us).
By car you can reach Krefeld city center in about 10 minutes and Düsseldorf city center and Venlo just over the border to the Netherlands in about 25 minutes.
Excursions/activities in the surrounding area:
- Egelsberg sailing airfield
- Heilmannshof
- Linn Castle
- Hülser Berg with hiking trails and mountain bike routes
- Schroers pony farm
- Kliedter Hof
- Bauhaus museums "Haus Lange Haus Esters"

Two life jackets for children/ sizes 10-20 kg and 20-30 kg are available in the boathouse.
We offer the house without bed linen and towels. There are seven single comforters (135x200cm) and pillows (80x80cm and 40x80cm) available.
We are happy to provide bed linen on request for €12 per person (incl. VAT). Towels for 5 € per person (incl. VAT).
Sufficient firewood is always provided. One full box is included in the price. If you need more, we charge €8 each (incl. VAT).
The rental fee for the projector is 49 € incl. VAT per stay (optional).
For your visit, we would like you to show appropriate consideration for the special place - both the house/facilities and nature. Thank you for your understanding in advance. By the way, dogs are allowed.
Larger events/parties not permitted due to the adjacent nature reserve. Commercial use (e.g. photo shoot) or for special occasions (e.g. free wedding ceremony) by arrangement.
If you have any questions, just write to us.
