Tucked away from the small village of Steinbach, this campsite is nestled among forests, meadows, and fields, surrounded by nature. Take a break from the digital world for a day, step away from your daily routine, and become one with nature. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the sunrise over the forest. Let the day pass you by and listen to the sounds of the night. Take a moment to look up at the starry sky and become part of this infinity.

If you’d like, you can take a stroll past blooming gardens to Steinbach, where you’ll find a small village square with a lovely Kneipp basin to cool off in and a playground.

For those who want to be more active, there are hiking trails, mountain bike trails, and a bike park nearby.

Or visit the beautiful historic old town of Wertheim with its many cafes. There you can also visit the Glass Museum and the castle.

You can paddle on the unspoiled Tauber River or cycle along its banks.

The historic towns of Miltenberg and Würzburg are also well worth a visit.

Shopping opportunities are available at the “Wertheim Village” outlet center, approximately 25 km away.

You’ll find supermarkets in Külsheim.

We look forward to your visit.

If you plan to arrive in a motorhome, please note that the site is only designed for vehicles up to approximately 7.5 meters in length.

Note:

Currently, there are about 15 Cameroon sheep grazing in a fenced-in area on the meadow below the campsite. They are calm and friendly and will likely have moved on by the end of June.

Activities

  • Watching wildlife

The fox and hare are of course there to say "good night" and our owl is always there. But we've also had deer, wild boar and a badger on our wildlife camera and at night you can hear the owl calling.

  • Cycling

The Tauber Valley cycle path is one of the best-known scenic and cultural routes. The starting point is Wertheim with its

a beautiful historic old town and the still mighty ruins of the

castle ruins of the Counts of Wertheim. From there, the route leads through the "lovely Tauber Valley", past Bronnbach with its former Cistercian monastery, via Gamburg to Tauberbischofsheim. We really like the route from Wertheim to Gamburg. see www.tauberradweg.de

  • MTB

There are plenty of opportunities to ride through the forest and fields. In addition to the official KUE1 mountain bike route, there is also a challenging enduro trail through the forest and a bike park right next door. More information on site.

  • Wine tasting

We are located directly in a wine region. Right next door is Külsheim with its "Hohen Herrgott" and several wineries.

  • Other activities

If you like, you can also bring your horse, there is plenty of grass in the forest meadow. You just have to tie it up, as there are no gates.

  • Kayaking, canoeing

The unspoilt Tauber river is perfect for paddling. We really enjoyed the trip from Gamburg to Bronnbach with our SUPs. The current is gentle, weirs have to be bypassed as there are no locks. The completely overgrown banks make you feel like you're in the jungle at times. You can also book complete tours or hire boats.

  • Hiking

Whether it's the "Drei Bäche Weg" directly on site, through the vineyards of the "Hohen Herrgott" in Külsheim or the "Orchideenweg", you won't run out of hiking options here. But you shouldn't get lost in Schönert. Here you will find various hiking trails around

Marc is a very nice and uncomplicated host. This is our 2nd time here and we enjoy the peace and quiet surrounded by nature. Levelling wedges are an advantage, depending on where you stand on the grass pavers. We can warmly recommend this pitch to nature lovers, campers looking for a rest or a break!
