Starting in December 2024, we’ll be offering three campsites by our small lake next to our Kömhuus vacation home. Here, you can unwind, explore the country roads with your dog, or let him run around in our large, private dog run.
From here, it’s a 15-minute drive to Denmark or the North Sea. The center of Niebüll is just 5 minutes away.
Our three donkeys also roam nearby. You might just wake up to the sound of a donkey braying in the morning.
Our campsites are on gravel and grass, with partial shade. Electricity can be added to your booking for 3€ per night.
We provide water.
We live next door on the farmstead and are happy to help with any questions you may have.
When you send your booking request, please let us know what type of vehicle you’ll be arriving in and its approximate size!
We look forward to seeing you!

We spent a weekend staying with Meinert and his wife in our camper van, and—along with our two dogs—we felt completely at home. The campsite is beautifully situated by a small lake, and the view of the three donkeys in the meadow brought us great joy time and time again. For our dogs, the fenced-in exercise area was the absolute highlight. And dirt paths start right from the campsite—perfect for lovely walks. We hardly heard anything from the nearby road—it didn’t bother us at all! We especially appreciated Meinert’s warm and friendly nature. He takes time for his guests, is incredibly helpful, and you can just tell that he really enjoys what he does and cares deeply about each and every one of us. The nice conversations with him made our stay even more enjoyable. An all-around relaxing campsite with a lot of heart, a great atmosphere, and everything you need for a little getaway. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you so much, dear Meinert! 😊
A beautifully landscaped campground in a gorgeous location. We received a warm welcome from Meinert, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. We were able to take the dogs on wonderful walks, and they absolutely loved the dog run. The new fresh water station works great. Even the portable toilet smelled fresh. We’ll definitely be back often. Best regards from Lars and Marina
Great hosts, Relaxed donkeys. Warm Frisian hospitality, We'd love to come back.
This was our first time staying at Hinterland, and we were completely satisfied! Great place, nice host. And a thoroughly well-maintained portable toilet... We stayed there for one night and would definitely come back.
A truly special little spot. Here, every effort has been made with great care to ensure that guests feel right at home. I’d also highly recommend it to cyclists… thanks to the small guesthouse, you’ll find a dry place to stay here even in bad weather. It’s also ideal for day-trippers visiting Sylt. A special thanks to Meinert and Sabine… your warm, family-like hospitality will remain unforgettable. See you next time. 😁
